My DS is on the scrawny side and I have the hardest time finding pants for him. He is 3 1/3 years old, about 40 in. tall and weighs between 27.5 and 29 lbs (his weight fluctuates there). He actually has round almost chubby cheeks but I swear there isn't an ounce of fat on his torso or limbs! Anyway, he just started needing 3T's for pants and I didn't know what to do because 2T's didn't even stay up! But my mom went to a Carter's outlet and bought some stuff for him and they fit GREAT!! Their styles used to be way too big and it seems like now they are cut slim, because he certainly didn't gain weight! This is the first time he has worn pants without the top two inches of his underwear hanging out!! I know I've heard other people complain about clothes for skinny little boys here, so I wanted to let you know that Carter's is worth checking out now :thumbsup2 !!!

The other thing that works really well are those pants and shorts with an elastic on the inside that you can pull and strap onto buttons on the inside waist of the pants/shorts. So, the length is fine and you adjust the waist to be as tight as you want. My DS has several pairs of those....and they last really long too since you can adjust them.

I've had good luck with those too but then we are limited to jeans or khaki. I'm so excited to see DS in windpants and sweats!

I have the same problem with ds8 who weighs 50lbs. and is 52". He still wears shorts that are 24mo. lol. Thank goodness we live in SWFL. Sears and JCP have slim lines, and of course Old Navy. I have also had luck at Target. I wish you the best, I know what a challenge it is. :thumbsup2

my 10 year oldis very slim. the best fit for him seems to be levis slim. they are very narrow. he does not like belts, so these work.

For little boys the Tommy Hilfiger chinos are good. They have the elastic in the back. Polo chinos have the elastic, too, but they are almost a whole size bigger than the Hilfiger. DS9 wears the Polo size 7 even though the Hilfigers are too short now. Izod makes a 7X with elastic, which are too big for DS but he makes them work. OshKosh also makes some things in 7X, but I don't think we have pants, just shorts. They are smaller than ANYTHING in an 8. The one pair of 8 I bought were so huge he said "These would fit DAD!" :rotfl2:

We HATE those pants with the adjustable waist! By the time I pull the elastic tight enough he has these huge wads of fabric on both sides. He looks ridiculous and it is very uncomfortable. The Hanes sweat pants from Target fit pretty well, but he can't wear those to school.

I love the Carters clothes, my DS is 6 and slim. These seem to fit him great also Osh Kosh will fit pretty good also. I normally buy these in Kohls, they are always on sale.
