Looks like a quiet night on the DIS.

We watched Wall-E tonight, made our own pizza (well got a cheese pizza from Costco and then doctored it up) and then DD and DH had popcorn and I had an apple.

Tomorrow we take down our Christmas decorations...:sad2:

If it were up to me, I'd keep them until end of January but DH wants to get them put away and since he is doing all the lifting/carrying, I can't complain. Besides we have to get working on the nursery...the wallpaper border just arrived today!

Hey Marshay

Yeah, seems like a quiet nite indeed.

Pizza sounds good. I had oatmeal and english muffin for dinner. dh is working. So just Trent and I.

I like to keep my decoraitons up to at least my bday

So, they will probably go down next weekend, since this weekend hubby is working

Oh awesome....nursey time...fun!!!!

Getting so close now:cheer2:

I know how you feel. i finished taking all my down last night. Still have to put them all back in the shed. :sad1: I usually leave my tree up a little longer also, but the ins man was supposed to be here this weekend and I wanted them to be able to see EVERY little bit of damage. Unfortunatly they recalled our inspector out of the storm sight and now we will be reassigned AGAIN!:sad2: Oh Well!
Nursery huh?? AHHHHH those were the good ole days!!:cloud9:

Hey LeeLee

It was good

Hubby and Trent took me out to Applebees for dinner. Then we stopped at supermarket at way home and they bought choc cake mix, choc icing and sprinkles and made me a cake and it was so good:goodvibes

Trent picked out my pajamas

Hot pink ones with cupcakes...He said..because pink is my fav color and I love cupcakes

Then he got me a toy monster jam truck so we could play together. HE picked out the Donkey Kong one as i had said before that was my fav one.

:goodvibes

How are things with you? How is your dh doing>

UJ HERE!!!!!
Tried to catch up a bit......wow......once again, you ladies can do some talkin!!!

Oh well, its what you do !!!!!

Steph, cute kid......a few days late though.....I would have slipped the doctor a c-note to back date that birth certificate to 12/31/08 !!!!! Little tax deductions anyway!!!

Glad everyone is doing well ......glad the holidays are over.....
I didnt get to take my niece & nephews (Love's kids) sledding......the weekend I was going to take them all the freakin snow melted.....:sad2:
Of course now we have another 10" of the crap on the ground and expected to get 7-9" more today.......

I had a little blow up with my son (15) over the holiday break......He went to his moms for about 4 days.....he has gone there for about 5 weekends in the past year......doesnt like it there very much......
He comes back home with both his ears pierced..........I about lost it...
I dont go for that stuff.........what really bothered me was he never called and talked to me about it, ex wife never ran it by me.....(she had to go with him and sign for it)......they just went and did it..........I told him i dont want him looking like some gang bangin dope smokin wannabe.......he told me everyone has it done........
All in all, I can probably deal with 1 piercing.......but I dont like both and the fact he never consulted me about it..........that hurts.....

OK Tat, bring it on !!!! LOL !!!:rotfl2:

Kind of funny thing about it, he had to get some xrays of his neck (injured it lifting weights) and the nurse made him take the ear rings out.....one hole closed up in that short amount of time...he was about in tears.....he couldnt get the thing back in.......Am I terrible for not offering to help him with it??? I wasnt about to stand in the hospital lobby trying to help my 15 year old son get his ear ring back in!!!! :lmao: :lmao:

That is what the kids and I did last night. We busted out the extension ladder and took all the outside lights down while it was still light. Then while watching a movie last night we took all the ornaments off the tree and dragged it outside. It's tradition to keep our stuff up till King's Day. Our's usually makes it till the weekend after because we both work.

I hope you are planning to share some pics of the nursery. I really like that border you picked out.

Wow UJ --- I think I would have lost my mind. I always thought I would be a pretty leniant mom about that stuff, but I guess I got old :lmao: I always wanted a tattoo and I got three holes pierced in my ears. But as I got older I decided against it. I think like you said ---it's more of a respect thing. He should have consulted with you before -- but you know he didn't because you would have said no. In my house, the kids can do whatever they want when they can support themselves and move out. Until then -- their minds and bodies are MINE. BWAH HA HA HA

And NO -- you aren't terrible for not offering to help him with it. I am evil because I would have made mine take them out as soon as they came home. Not because I disaprove of pierced ears. Because it was kinda sneaky. KWIM?

I have a tendency towards being the cool Mom but oh boy. That would have frosted my cake so to say. I don't think you were terrible not helping him I frankly wouldn't have either. I think he is like my kids and knew darn good and well that he should have at least consulted you. The not being consulted is what would have got me too.

Hey, I'm not a gang bangin dope smokin wannabe.

Don't you know guys don't just pierce one ear anymore? That's so 80's. Just be glad he didn't come home with other pierced parts or tattoos on his face. Ya gotta look on the bright side. Things could always be worse.

And if it were me, I would have put his earring back in for him. I like to inflict pain.

Did you get one of those Mudslides at Crapplebee's? They make the best Mudslides ever. Highly recommended by me, the lush.

Sorry about your cold. I'm going through the same thing with my allergies, which I can't understand because the weather isn't exactly allergy weather, ya know? I couldn't stop sneezing earlier and Shane told me to knock it off.:confused3 Like I can help it.

OK, I forgot to quote, so here goes:

- Sorry about the insurance personnel change again...hope this one works.

- pink PJs with cupcakes and Donkey Kong truck -- neato!

- What is King's day? I'm not familiar with that (unless you mean Elvis death day)

- I gotta agree with you -- I'd be really mad if one of my children living "under my roof" does something as big as that w/o at least talking to me about it. I think I'd make my DD take the earrings out and then when we could sit down together and talk about it, then we could come to a mutual decision. (I know it's not the same with girls as guys, but the point is definitely that he didn't ask/tell you and ... how bad is that for the mom not to consult you either!?)

- Yes, I'll show pics of the nursery. Which reminds me that I don't think I ever showed you guys final pics of the dining room and playroom. After I take down all the Xmas stuff, I'll have to take some pics.

Speaking of dining room, our lawyer goes to court on Monday re: the furniture debacle...it'll be interesting to see what happens. At this point, now that Xmas is over, I may just be fine to give it all back. It got us through all the company and that's what I needed.
