Hey all.. just on for a minute.. im gunna sleep after this..

Jason and Josh are both asleep now.. yeah mom and dad and EVERYONE else was in the labor and delivery room for the most part.. it was ok tho because for one I was drugged up and like barely noticed (i guess at one time there was like 11 of them in there :confused3 ) but they were all just hangin out while I was dialating and junk and everytime they would come in to check me everyone but Josh would leave the room and Josh would go out and get them when the nurse was done and stuff.. so that was fine.. then when the time came everyone but Josh left again.. so it wasnt as big of a problem for me because there were other people for mom to talk to so she pretty much stayed out of my hair..

Jason has his first appt tomorrow.. they are doing a follow up because he may have jaundice.. one time they tested he was high enough for the light therepy but they wanted to wait and test again in the morning and he was just under the testing limits.. so we take him to get tested again tomorrow.. doc says its border line jaundice.. hes got a lump on his head too that DR says is hematoma and will go away in a few weeks..

found out I am not able to breast feed.. he latches on fine and stays on long enough but hes not getting enough nutrients and his blood sugar was super low so we have to bottle feed him.. oh well.. i tried.. now it just means I can leagally have my big kid drink sooner! :lmao: just kidding.. but a nice caramel frappuchino with no guilt will be good! :goodvibes maybe thats what i'll have tomorrow.. and a cup of coffee in the morning.... and a pepsi with every meal... :cloud9: :lmao:

im gunna give Jason his tylonol for his snip snip under the diaper (if you know what I mean) and take my big kid tylonol for my stitches from his big head (torn not cut in case anyone wanted the goorey dets..) and go to sleep!

talk to you all later! good night!

Hey steph

Glad everything is going well.

Trent was borderline jaundice, too. Glad you are getting that retested tomorrow, just in case.

Stitches...they sucked...had them myself..thats enuff details:laughing:

I could not breastfeed either. I tried for a few days, but it was just too hard

Morning Ob. How ya doing?

Morning All :upsidedow

Love - Welcome Back :goodvibes Sounds like and interesting trip up North :scared: Glad the holiday was nice for you other than the long trip!

Hi Steph :wave2: Glad everything went well! StinkerBelle had a hematoma on her head and it turned into pretty severe jaundice so I'm glad they are checking Jason...better to be safe :thumbsup2 Breastfeeding is definitely a challenge...I can atest to that! Hope all goes well with the appointment today. I had stitches too and was a little uncomfy for about 2 weeks and then all went back to normal (trying not to get too in detail ;)). Keep us posted on the appointment. Congrats again :goodvibes

Hi everyone! Not a whole lot going on here. We might have to cancel our trip :sad1: Lot's of things going on at DH's office. He has not made the final decision but will have to by today so that we can take care of our DVC points without any penalty. If we do cancel, I'm ok with it and know there are other trips in our future.

Hope you all are having a good Tuesday!

Hey Betsy

the appt went alright.. they tested him again and said the jaundice is still kinda there but not high enough to treat him.. they said right now to just keep an eye on his color and if he starts looking more yellow to call and make another appt and they will test again but right now he said just kinda let nature take its course..

Not everyone! Some of us remember what it is like to be trapped in a hospital room with a kabillion people at once and not being to breath. I wasn't able to breastfeed either but I still was able to bond just fine with my kids. :goodvibes

yeah.. i knew thats why you guys stayed away.. everyone was kinda ignoring me and just talking to each other so I just tried to sleep.. and josh would see when I would start getting frusterated and make everyone (mostly mom) quiet down.. and they did.

The worst part of the stitches is the itchy healing feeling! Oh gosh I remember that awkward feeling like it was yesterday.:goodvibes

yeah I hate that... but i would have to say the worst part of all of it IMO is that yucky feeling of the "leaking" down there.. I HATE that feeling! :rotfl:

Steph -- just to offer a different viewpoint, breastfeeding and bottle feeding do not have to be mutally exclusive. It takes 4-7 days anyway for your milk to truly come in -- the first days are just the collustrum and many moms are told to use formula in the first days just b/c the "real" milk hasn't come in yet.

Sooooo if you want to give it a try, yes it will take extra time to do both, but you can. The benefits of breastmilk EXCEED any formula out there since Jason will be getting more and better nutrients from you (and also breastfeeding helps you lose the baby weight!:thumbsup2 ).

You breastfeed first and then give formula afterwards. In a few days/weeks you may find that breastfeeding is enough...or you may need to continue longer.

Obviously, you alone need to make that choice but please note that it is not an all or nothing...you can do both. (And it **@###* me off that someone told you to only to bottle...I'm sorry they said that to you...)

EDIT: This isn't meant to say formula is bad. We actually used formula the first day and on and off for DD's first 6 months, but always kept up with the breastfeeding too. I figure she actually got the best of both worlds that way!

yeah I kept trying and now im not producing ANYTHING at all.. so hes just sucking at nothing.. I was going to do that half and half with him if I had to but if he isnt getting anything then its just not worth it to suck away at nothing and get him irritated about it before the actual food..

Josh and I had to go to raleys today and we took Jason because we were already out (after the appt) and we were gunna wait for the perscription but I was like "yeah no i gotsta go home" when packing the diaper bag i forgot to pack some "diapers" for myself.. :rotfl:

Could someone come over here and hit my DH over the head with something? His snoring kept me up half the night :headache:

All the baby comments are taking me way back. I remember when DD was born she was in NICU so I couldn't breast feed. But I was determined so I pumped and pumped and pumped. It was so frustrating getting next to nothing. Then 4 or 5 days later BAM! It was like a freak show and I looked like something out of Playboy :lmao:

Hope everyone has a great day.

re: bfeeding, as PP (I forget who it was now) said, if you want to keep trying, go ahead...it will take a few days, maybe even a week before your milk comes in and then BAM -- baby will have a feast!:rotfl2:

Great pics stephs.

Like marshay said, that is a ton of people, thank goodness for the drugs :rotfl2:

so time to update my reading list! What are you reading that is good?

I'm currently reading a true story about a family with a special needs child written by James Patterson (I love his work!). The kid is perfectly normal one day and then BAM, right before 5 years old, has this strange feeling to shake his head all day -- ends up having Tourette's, obsessive-compulsive disorder and depression all before age 10 or so.

It's a tear-jerker for any mom ... but really good. It's told from the kids perspective and opens your eyes.

Of course, my eyes are constantly filled with mega-tears while reading this whole thing, but being pregnant probably has something to do with that too.

Oops, forgot to tell you the title ...

"Against Medical Advice" by James Patterson
