Wow, Sharky that's a long night. I am lucky to get a 5 hour night. Thankfully the kids start their Winter break on Friday and I won't be getting up at 6:15 every morning. That pleases me no end. It is 38 and raining here this morning.

Had a gift exchange with DD and one of her friends today. Then came back to the house to play. DD is being a total nightmare Not sure what is into her but I'm not liking it!

I'm going to the gym around 8:30 and will hopefully have some PC time once I am home I don't even feel like going but I hate knowing I pay for a membership and wasting it. The snow isn't helping either

I've been busy planning our Christmas dinner and making cookies.

For all you interested folks, here's what we are doing for Christmas meals. It may be a bunch of food but since this is my first time making a turkey, I figure we better have lots of sides in case I ruin the entree!

There are a few brand new recipes this time. I like my family to be the guinea pigs ..anyone else brave enough to join us?

Oh, darn...I'll be cropping from 6pm to midnight...guess I'll just have to miss it!!

Jeez, I read that as crapping. I should really stick in my contacts or run out to the car and grab my glasses out of there. I thought that's a really long time to be...nevermind.

Oh yeah they always take pictures. And then I had to get lipstick to go with the dress. And I wanted some of the newer powder type of foundation, and must have new eye shadow, and I needed new eyeliner because our girls "borrow" mine and I never see it again. And I have been debating getting my hair done. And I am so glad I am not alone at this.

I found a great makeup store yesterday. Do you have an Ulta near you? They have anything and everything you could possibly want. I went in there and ended up buying myself Christmas presents. Not only do they have makeup, but they have perfumes, skin care, nail care, shaving, wax, lotions, shampoos, all the professional hair care that's sold in salons (i.e. Paul Mitchell, etc.), ceramic straighteners, blow dryers. I could go on and on. I could spend hours and hours in that store. Not to mention I could also drop wads of cash in there.

I think am good in the makeup department until StinkerBelle is old enough to start borrowing. Hair is a whole different story! I'll probably attempt to put some of it up somehow. Curly hair doesn't have a lot of options. Yes, I am right here with ya girl

I hate my curly hair! I want straight hair! Poker freaking straight! I don't care if it won't hold a curl either. I don't even have cute little ringlet curls. I have to have these big freaking frizzed out unmanageable curls. And since I had to cut it short after this stupid surgery, I look like Michael Jackson circa 1974 before I get out the straightener.

I've let my haircut get real out of shape because I hated and I figured if I let it grow out I could change the style. It hasn't bothered me until now, with the Christmas party looming tomorrow I begin to care more. Trust me when Stinkerbelle gets older your makeup will be fun. Then it will be like her lives blood if she is anything liek my vain daughters. And it's not like I don't buy them makeup because trust me I have spent a small fortune on makeup for them.

Hee hee. I put makeup on Kyleigh yesterday. She told me she wanted to be goth. So I put dark makeup on her. Then she said she looked like a freak. I said, "well, you said you wanted to be goth."

My hair is always an issue because I feel like I look the same regardless of what I do to it. Everyone likes curly hair unless they have it! She has shown interest in my blush which can turn very messy as she attempts to put it all over her body I can only imagine the price of buying makeup for 2 teens and yourself!

Just the thought of that is hilarious. Do you do that, Betsy? She had to have seen it somewhere, right?

So, FIL bought StinkerBelle Kota the Triceratops Dinosaur at Target for $240.00, I think that was 2 weeks ago. And I was just on the CB here and saw a post that Toys R Us has it for $99.00! They are selling them until they are gone! I cannot believe it! He is going to return it to Target and get it for that price now! WOO HOO

Oh my goodness, that is a huge difference! What a great deal!

It has been awhile since we have had a Penny and Sharky adventure

Well, we went Christmas shopping last night. We were supoosed to go 2 weeks ago, but had to cancel.

Even though I felt "crappy", I stuck it out and went.

We had blast.

First off it was pouring. Not too bad at first.

We started at Toys R Us.

It was a mad house. I was constantly backing up my cart, moving this way, that way.

But I got a few things..let me think what I got..as I know you will want to know

Phineas and Ferb DVD
Geotrax Airport(trent been asking for this ALOT)
Two of the Cars from the movie..think Mario Andretti was one, forget other
A Cars Mega Blocks Set(car glows in dark)

So, I paid for my stuff and we left.

IT was raining a bit harder, but not too bad.

Next stop, Target.

By the time we got there, the sky had opened up and OMG it poured. I am taling Monsoon, Niagara Falls like.

Penny parking a bit close to the other car, as it was a narrow spot and I Could not even get out. I had to climb over console and get out her side

We ran splashing in the puddles into Target.


IT was even worst here. I really thought I reaqd the calendar wrong and it was Christmas Eve


I got something for my Mom

I got a pair of warm cozy flannel PJ bottoms and nice Jersey top for Steve. I got him a pack of black socks for work.

Then on to Toys, AKA Madhouse

There were a bunch of teenagers there. I think they were either doing one of those were they buy toys for needy families, which is nice, but my god, they were eveywhere and we could not move.

They were nice. This one guy was hilarious,.

No matter what aisle I went up, he was in my way. He hit my cart a few times and knocked off part of a shelf. I was dying laughing at him as was he

Then, I come down one aisle and he trying to come out. SO I said, let me back up

I start backing up, slowly and look to see if anyone coming. Now this lady is coming right at me, with no intentions of either stopping, slowing down or going around ne, so I quickly pushed my cart forward so I did not get slammed into by her

But the guy keeps coming and he hits me...I said DUDE(yes, I used that word ) this lady is coming with a venegance, so you going ot have to wait a minute

I ended up getting for Trent:

a set of Carnival Train Coaches from Thomas the Train
A spongbob stuffed animal that came with a DVD
Not sure what this called..but you stick your hand under it and push it and it forms the shape of our hand out of colored pins???
A regular size Blue Mater (that trent is always asking for)
A cute little toy set with Buzz and Alien in from Toy Story

I think that was it.

WEll, we paid and OMG, it was raining harder.

Oh, I always got wrapping paper and a few stockng stuffers..hot wheels, candy, nothing exciting

anyway, we take off running into parking lot and look at all the people fumbling with thier umbrellas...Geez people, a little rain won't kill ya we shout as we run by

Well we ran to where we thought the car was, but it was not there and we just stood there laughing our butts off. It was funniest thing. We were drenched, you could not help by laugh

Onc we found our car, we got in and tried to dry off with heat....


Then we hit Friendlys looking like drenched rats...Waitress laughed at us

I was only able to get Cheese quesadills and could not finish. My meds had just begun to wore off towads the end of the meal. No ice cream for me


SO we paid and she dropped me off. I spent the next 20 mins, drying off all my gifts and putting them into dry bags and up to the attic to hide.

Steve PJ pants were a bit wet, so had to break out hair dryer to dry them out

Yeah, I'm excited. DH and I never get to go out without StinkerBelle. She is spending her first night without us at my parents...fingers crossed!

Yes she does. She is taking a special pillow and sleeping bag with her so I think that will make her feel more comfy and at home. My Mom is going to sleep with her so that should help also!

All right girlie, this is your "Mom" speaking, knock it off, I am very young in spirit and so are my hips, lol. I had fun snow tubing just a few short years ago when we lived in the Pocono Mtns in PA.

I am sitting down here in FL and it's chilly the past two days, in the high 50's and low 60's tops. I have actually had to wear a long sleeved shirt and jeans, now that just isn't right. Tonight we are going to a nice steakhouse for dinner, not sure yet if we are going to Smokey Bones or The Texas Roadhouse. Not sure what else we'll do today or tomorrow though but we'll do something.

We are going to look at a few houses next weekend as we may buy a house here and I'll just stay here and Bryan will move to Alabama for his next job and live in the camper and come home every other weekend or so. Poor me, I may have to live in FLorida all by myself. What's a poor girl to do?

I would love to have the 50s or 60s right now. I just heard the plow truck go past my house. I'm home with a sick puking kid right now. Lucky for me, I still get to go to work later.

I don't know how you do it. I know if I'm here by myself for too long, even if the kids are here, I start getting depressed. There comes a point where I find myself needing some adult human contact of some kind. You know my husband is never home, and I never get out. Last week, I was PMSing big time. I was at that point and I didn't know whether I wanted to rip someone's head off or just sit and cry.

I told Joe about it on Saturday night and he invited me to go out with him. Well, you know that didn't go over well. It never does when one person stays sober and the other one is a drunken monkey. He goes through stages. First, he's the happy drunk. Then he's the angry drunk. Then he's the depressed drunk. I don't know why I even bother going out with him, because it always ends up in a fight of one kind or another. I don't even remember what he said anymore, but I was mad as hell after he said it. And can you believe he wanted to drive? Just because he's the man doesn't mean he has to drive all the time. Especially after he's had, I don't know, at least 15 drinks. Anyway, I'm sure I don't have to tell you about all this stuff. Why do we even bother?

The decorations are really nice Marshay. They look great! You have a gorgeous house!

Thanks for sharing them. In a way I wish we were home in Louisiana so we could put up all of our decorations. I'm going to miss that this year.

soo... Josh got laid off on Wed... iritating.. they said its because he didnt sell any cars last month but he actually sold 2 but they had to come back because the owner didnt pay on some program they run with and they couldnt check credit so in the end the buyers couldnt finance... and that dealership isnt paying their trades off either.. we went to the EDD office yesterday and he filled out a bunch of applications and on tuesday there is a job fair there for comcast and Wed. there are going to be other employers there for a job fair.. soo... hes going!

on the hair conversation.. I love my straight hair! I wouldnt trade it for anything in the world! I was so worried that if we were having a girl that she would get Joshs curley hair.. I dont know how to take care of curley hair! the only thing about my hair is I wish it would hold a curl if i tried to curl it but i almost have to glue it to get it to hold! for prom we had to use the glue for spiking your hair to get imy hair to hold the curls and they ended up falling about 2/3 into the night..

That sucks. He better find something like now!

I'm okay. The weather is a little ugly here today. Party was just okay. The food was good, I looked and felt pretty. But, it was so loud and the drunks were awful as always. But high pint the actually got 8 hours pay as a Christmas bonus.



The brownies were good too. It's nice to see you friend. How's the family?

I was thirlled with the bonus. You're right there are always drunks. The assistant plant manager and his wife always bring their little girl. She is maybe 4 years old. She is allowed to run wild and do whatever she wants while Mom and Dad party. I spend my evening watching her to make sure she is okay. Under no circumstances would I ever have taken our children to an adult party. I guess what bothers me the most is the fact that even though he may know these people from work he doesn't "really" know them. Anything could happen and the fact that it is held at a Hilton Hotel any stranger could happen in and they may never even notice. Sorry I will step away from my soapbox now.

What is wrong with those people? I can't stand people like that. Good idea to bring your kid to play with the drunks. Morons.

Yep! You might want to bring some clothes!! hey you could always just wear lots of layers and that way your suitcases could just hold your gifts. That way even if your luggage gets lost. Hey maybe no presents but you would have clothes.

The party was really nice! DH and I enjoyed ourselves just getting out without worrying about sippy cups and snacks! We went to my FIL's after and played the Wii until midnight I am so happy I got that for his gift...it was so much fun! StinkerBelle did great! So great that she keeps saying, "Mama, I go to Grammy's again, where are you going to go?" I'm really glad she had fun and did not miss us...makes me feel good

Glad you had fun! I don't know if I'm glad DD didn't miss you or not. But I'm sure you missed her.

10 hours! The only time I get 10 hours is when I'm out of town for work, believe it or not. I'm usually in bed before 9. Of course, sometimes I'm lucky enough to be up by 3:30 a.m. I hate those days. You're probably not even sleeping by then.

You know, I'm not even really sure when my kids officially start their break. I think it is on the 23rd, but I have to check. Their school is so unorgainzed about sending stuff home. When I was in school, we always got a yearly calendar sent home at the beginning of the year, and then a monthly calendar. This school just sends slips of paper home at the end of the week before to let us know. If I need to plan, I have to look at their lunch calendar.

Ugh, my kids have that gift exchange crap at school. It has to be between $2 and $5. You know, we end up throwing away that crap every single year. Shane doesn't play with toy trucks and hasn't in years. And Kyleigh will destroy whatever it was that was given to her within minutes because, well, its crap. I hate it and don't know why we have to do it. Oh yeah, did I mention it is CRAP?

Oh and guess what I did? I cleaned all of the old toys and clothes out of the kids' rooms that they don't use/fit into anymore. We got rid of 14 bags of CRAP! I seriously could not believe how much junk we cleaned out of there. I'm so glad to get rid of it all. Now we have more room for more crap.

He goes through stages. First, he's the happy drunk. Then he's the angry drunk. Then he's the depressed drunk. I don't know why I even bother going out with him, because it always ends up in a fight of one kind or another. I don't even remember what he said anymore, but I was mad as hell after he said it. And can you believe he wanted to drive? Just because he's the man doesn't mean he has to drive all the time. Especially after he's had, I don't know, at least 15 drinks. Anyway, I'm sure I don't have to tell you about all this stuff. Why do we even bother?

Wow, your meal sounds delicious! I have never cooked a turkey either! I host Thanksgiving but my Mom comes the day before and does the turkey the morning of. I'm sure yours will be great!

Ok, I have a few questions!

1. What's in the Orange You Glad It's Christmas Soup? I like the name!
2. How is the PA Dutch Filling and Gravy made? It sounds like great comfort food!
3. What's all put into the Leftover Soup?

1. The soup is based on Rachel Ray's "Orange you glad it's thanksgiving soup" with Butternut Squash puree, carrots and orange juice as the base. I've never tried it but it sounds good. You can find the recipe on-line.

2. My parents make this -- it's basically doctored up mashed potatoes with onions, celery, just a bit of bread crumbs, parsley, seasonings, egg and who know what else. If you really want I can find the recipe and give it to you. I must admit it's really good, but I grew up on that. My parents hated typical "bread stuffing" but always made that.

3. I meant to say that if there is any soup left over from earlier in the day, then we'd have that

You are gonna be a busy, busy girl! Good luck with your first turkey. I was worried about my first, too, but it actually turned out really good. Oh, yeah, and I will be over, because I have no intentions of cooking on Christmas day.

Yep, we'll be busy. I'm thinking I can make almost everything the day before and if I didn't say it, my parents and sister's family are also sharing the workload...so I only have about 6 things to make -- not everything.
