I was trying to keep awake, lol. The place is owned by a husband and wife and I am the other person in the office. The husband is out at least 50% of the time, if not more. There are two high school boys that work in the warehouse in the back retrieving files and setting up new files, they are part time.

So the wife and I were there and the two kids in the back, the husband came in for about 15 mins, got some work orders and out he went again. Then he called and could not pick the kids up and take them to the dentist so the wife had to leave at 2:45 to take them. I finished everything she gave me to do. I answered the phones and took messages as I couldn't help them as I had no answers since I no nothing yet. Then the high school kids left about 3:30 and I was alone, I looked through a booklet that had some information in it, then I went to look for something and went to get a binder off the shelf and the entire shelf fell off and all the binders with it :rotfl2: Stacked them neatly on the floor, someone will have to fix that for me. I read my book a little but it was just so quiet. I put a radio on and couldn't get a station so finally I got on the internet, checked my yahoo email, then got on the DIS, I got one post in and got an error so X'd out of the internet and went back to reading. The husband called about 4:40 and said to go ahead and go since he knew there was nothing for me to do there so I said okay, went potty, got all my notes with messages for tomorrow together on my desk and then left at 4:53.

They are very nice people, but am not sure how it will work out. The salary is pretty low and I have to drive 31 miles each way so am not sure if I will clear enough to pay bills, buy gas and have anything left over or not. First payday is June 26th, so we'll see. But its better than no money so I will definitely stay there until I give it a chance and/or find something else. As I was leaving one of the temp agencies called with a possible position. Figures huh?

The people I work for go to Sam's Club and they stock the fridge with bottled water, diet decaf coke, coke zero, sprite zero, something else, I forget, lol, and vitamin water. They also have those big packs of individual sized "baked" snack bags. You don't have to pay for them, they are just there for you to take if you want something, which is nice. I can take my lunch whenever I want. Today I took an hour and worked 9 to approx 5. As I get better trained and see how the call volume is, I'll decide if I want to work 8:30 to 4:30 with an hour for lunch; 9:00 to 4:30 with half hour for lunch or what?

So that was my first day!

great...I hope it works out and you get paid more eventually!

Nice! they have a stocked fridge! :thumbsup2

too bad the high school boys aren't cute college boys instead! ;):lmao: (eye candy would be nice don't you think?)

She said there are times when there is nothing to do, even after I'm trained and know what I am doing so I am hoping when that happens she won't mind me getting on the internet. I guess we'll see. She said I could read so she doesn't expect me to pretend to be busy so that is a good thing. Let's hope I can DIS and FB later! Also let's hope the training period is fast and I get a raise fast!

oh cool...hope you can get on the internet when you are not busy. :goodvibes

still hoping for that raise for ya!! :thumbsup2

He came home Friday night and went back last night. I miss him. :sad1:

I missed it! Happy Belated Birthday Cheri!

And Carla, that must have taken you forever to type! :lmao:

thanks!!!

yeah, you're RIGHT! I was thinking that when I saw it too! I feel so special!

So Tomato just informed me that there is no Super Target or Super WalMart in PCB!!!!! :scared1: If you even knew how essential to my survival my Super Target is. I don't think I can live there now. :sad2:

Whew.... I am caught up now.

no no, that's not good. Hope they build one soon. Call 'em and tell them to get on it!!

I am still here. I was catching up on Carla's mini-trippie. But I am going now because I am exhausted! We had such a crazy busy weekend and I still have not recovered! :faint:

I don't think I did bad for my first scrapbook page.

very nice!! :thumbsup2

okay, whew, I'm all caught up!!

The birthday wishes were very thoughtful. And I did have a great bday weekend. DH called in Saturday so he could have Saturday AND Sunday off! (He had already took vac Sunday) So we got to check into our hotel around 3 and spent the latter half of Saturday in New Orleans, as well as most of the day Sunday. We ate dinner together Saturday night, and then Sunday evening we met up with my parents and sister at Olive Garden. I got embarrassed there (I had no idea they sang to you there and put a hairnet on your head???:confused3)

Mike got me a very nice ring for my birthday. A huge lab created diamond on sterling silver. I'll have to take a picture. He loves buying me jewelry but for once I would like something different. I guess I should start giving him ideas huh? :rotfl:

The best gift was what he suggested at dinner.....

We went to "Morton's the Steakhouse" and both chose the filet.
Well, before we received our entrees, he said "I bet this won't beat Le Cellier"
I agreed, it probably wouldn't.
Then after we began eating our steaks, he said, "Nope, it sure doesn't beat Le Cellier"

drum roll please.....

Then he said that he thought we should go to Disney "one more time" in September with the free dining! BUT....he said, ONLY IF the evil contractor roof man pays up (The lawyer sent him a letter last week with details of our damages, etc, and what he owes us)
This is the convo that followed:
Mike: "I want to stay moderate this time"
Me: "okay, which one"
Him: "Wilderness Lodge" :rotfl:
Me: "That's NOT moderate honey, that's deluxe"
Him: "Okay, well I want to stay there, it will just be a little more"
*Knowing how much my husband exaggerates things (one way or the other) I thought he surely knew how much deluxe resorts cost, so I thought he was just being his usual self and calling $1000 "a little more"

Me: "Okay, I'll look into it! What made you think of this?"
Him: "I've been thinking about it for the last 11 months" (There comes his exaggeration -- I'm sure he means since our last trip in September)
Me: "WOW! I had no idea"
Him: "It would really give you something to look forward to.
But we won't be going back for 5 years"
Me: "No way, 5 years is too long. Maybe 2 years :)"

So, I did some research yesterday and showed him the figures (based on an email I got from Disney for $139/night for WL resort and paying for the DDP) and he said that's too much  Then I showed him the value prices again and of course, no shocker there.

So, it looks like we may have another trip in the works for September with Free Dining at Pop! (Orrrrr....we could do moderate -- and when I say moderate I mean the real moderate, not Mike's version of "moderate" :rotfl:)

We were actually thinking about going to Paris (and Disneyland Paris) this year sometime, because Mike found some good prices on one of those travel sites online (I forget which one) but it was only a 4 night trip. (the deal we found didn't include Disney so that would have been extra & we would have had to travel to DL as it's actually 30 or so miles from Paris) We really can't afford any more than that. We thought it would be a great idea to get a trip in before we have kids. But realistically, we'd be very jetlagged for the first day and possibly the 2nd, and would be rushing around to try to do everything. Then I'd be SO scared about how much money we'd actually spend while actually IN Paris. And as we discussed last night, maybe we'll be able to afford a longer trip to Paris/London in a few years and even if we have a child by then, I think "Grandma & Grandpa" would be fine with watching him or her for a week.

I'm nervous because I don't know if this guy is going to pay up easily. But he should! We are going to have to change the roof again :headache: and if he doesn't then we won't have the money to do that AND take a trip.

Actually, I think we could swing Pop without a problem as long as we didn't buy a whole lot of souvenirs & stuff. Which makes me believe no matter what happens, we'll probably be going. But I'm nervous about not getting good ADR's now because we'd be past the early booking window. But in Mike's words "I know you can get Le Cellier for us, I just know it.......and if you don't, we'll stand outside with our puppy dog faces on until they let us in" :rotfl:
(That was the part of the conversation I left out earlier)

So....thoughts? :goodvibes

OMGosh, NO ONE has been here yet to see my big news and it's been TWO HOURS. C'mon y'all....:rotfl:

No Superwalmart or Target :scared1:

I know!!! There is regular target and regular walmart only. The regular target I can handle because I don't buy a lot of groceries at my Super Target. But Walmart is another story ~ I've become very attached to my super walmart since I discovered how much money I can save by getting my groceries there! Now I'll have to shop at Publix, I guess. That is where Tomato has been shopping.

Love.....sorry I Missed you

we want to know what you all did this weekend ?

well I do at least popcorn::

Copied and pasted from elsewhere :rolleyes1 ~

Tomato was here! He got in late Friday night, we had to be on the soccer field at 8:30 Sat. for the tournament, won the first game, played again at 11:30, won, were out of there at 1, had a showing at 2, graduation party 4-8, another showing at 6:45 that I almost missed the call for, went home, collapsed, slept in, another soccer game at 1, won, and another at 2:30, won, WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS (sing it Carla, it's your favorite!), came home for a few minutes, took Tomato to the airport and then I took the kids out for burgers.

I am tired all over again!

So....thoughts? :goodvibes

First thought - :cool1:!!! Always a good thing when *they* come up with the idea to go!

Second thought - You def. need longer than 4 days to do Paris! So, that trip should wait until you can afford to go for longer. At least that is how I've always felt about taking a trip across the pond ~ I'm still waiting to be able to afford it!

I hope that contractor pays up soon! *fingers crossed!*

So DisneyWorld...September...yes? :rotfl: (just kidding, I know you agree to that!)

Oh, I'm sorry... I wasn't clear enough, was I?

YES!!!!!!!!!!!

:rotfl2:

I keep thinking it would be really nice if we could take advantage of free dining but I just can't make any plans until this house sells.

Alright...... gotta get the boys from the bus stop in a bit.... I sat here all day, practically

phone rings.

stop typing and answer phone.

OH MY FF, PEOPLE!!!

It was my agent....... we are getting an offer tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!

:cool1::cheer2::yay::woohoo:

I just told y'all that even before Tomato knows!!!

fingers crossed that it is a reasonable offer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gotta go call my man now!!!!

Talk to you later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG Cheri, that's awesome! Mike is one heck of a husband, I'm envious but oh so happy for you! That sounds like you are going to make it there one way or another just a matter of where you stay. I'm not so sure about Paris Disneyland because of how weak our dollar is right now. I believe that Paris uses the Euro Dollar and that's not as good as the franc or the pound, butr don't take my word for it, check it out first.

Its great to plan things like this before you have kids because once they come along things get tight and you can't always do all the things you would like to until they are a bit older!

I sure hope that contractor pays up so that you can go but even if he doesn't you may be able to swing Pop so go for it girlie and enjoy! I'm really happy for you!:yay:

He got in late Friday night, we had to be on the soccer field at 8:30 Sat. for the tournament, won the first game, played again at 11:30, won, were out of there at 1, had a showing at 2, graduation party 4-8, another showing at 6:45 that I almost missed the call for, went home, collapsed, slept in, another soccer game at 1, won, and another at 2:30, won, WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS (sing it Carla, it's your favorite!), came home for a few minutes, took Tomato to the airport and then I took the kids out for burgers.

I am tired all over again!

Wow, that was some whirlwind weekend you and Tomato had but I bet it was really nice having him home with you and that's what counts. It won't be long till you are all together again for good.

I found Publix a bit on the high end as a grocery store. Maybe you can find a Super Walmart out a little in one of the towns nearby. Maybe you can find a Winn Dixie, they are good and much more reasonable than Publix!

Chele...You did a great job on Scotty's page :thumbsup2

Sounds like a tiring, but awesome weekend with your tomato

Way to go to the Champions :cool1:

okay, whew, I'm all caught up!!

:goodvibes

That is so awesome girl!!!!

I agree....4 days is not enough time for Paris

Go to Disney :wizard:

Oh, I'm sorry... I wasn't clear enough, was I?

YES!!!!!!!!!!!

:rotfl2:

I keep thinking it would be really nice if we could take advantage of free dining but I just can't make any plans until this house sells.
