For life...take three...... NEW THREAD ALERT. PG 243

Isn't Toy Story Mania supposed to be exactly like the ride? Is it worth getting for older kids? Just wondering, since my youngest will be 10 soon, I don't want to spend the money on it if it's just going to collect dust.

I think it's totally worth it. But you have to like "shooting". There are some things you do besides shooting but the majority is aiming and shooting as fast or as accurate as possible. There are many levels just like the ride and then they have different themes as well (western, animals, outer space, bo peep, etc).

I highly recommend but it is VERY tiring on the hand as you have to shake the remote really fast sometimes and other times it's just shooting, shooting, shooting.

Based on comments I've read on the DIS (there is a thread or two just devoted to this game), it seems like the teens aren't really liking this game and the younger children can't shoot and aim.

But my 10 and 12 yo nephews loved it ... and so did my parents (late 50s/60s) and of course me, Jerry and my Sis and BIL.

Happy New Years all!!

Kelly, I hope Trent is okay.

Happy New Years to you too

Thanks Chele

He has a nasty cough, but is in good spirits :goodvibes

Well this sleep over will involve daiquiris...something that we didn't have when we were 16. So I'm thinking Truth or Dare + Daiquiris may not be such a good thing.:goodvibes

By the way...I make brownies the same way.:thumbsup2

Hi Nikki! I read on Kelly's TR that you are feeling a lot better and going out and doing more. I am so happy to hear that. It's about time girl, you so deserve to feel good! I hope you had a great holiday!

Getting caught up!!!!!

YOU LADIES ROCK!!!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM UJ!!!!

I'm glad Chirstmas is over, when the kids get older it just doesnt seem the same......cherish those days with the little ones ladies.......:thumbsup2 Tell your mom I said HI!!!!

Sharky, when are you going to fire up the TR??? BTW, Trent dude rocks, he is a cool little dude!!! Give him a high five then a fist bump from UJ !!!!!

(Oh, dead deer hanging in the garage!!!! Meat on the table...WOO HOOO)

Have a safe New Year !!!!! Buckle up, designate a driver;)......remember, crashes suck....!! :sad2:

Hi UJ! Happy New Year! I am home from my visit. We were on a 3 week tour and visited friends, then in-laws and finally on to NJ to see the kids! It was a great holiday except for Trent getting sick and me not being able to visit a couple of the days there :sad1::sad1: Poor little guy had such a terrible cough and I'm sure Kelly wrote (but I haven't caught up yet) that he had walking pnumonia! Now I have a cough, am wheezing a little and not able to cough up enough yet. I start a new job tomorrow so timing to get sick sucks, lol. I am going anyway though, let them send me home if they want but I have to show up for my first day.

I had a nice New Year's Eve and my husband was the designated driver so we were good, plus we went home before midnight so as to avoid the drunks. We then watched the New Year come in on TV!

Hi Jamie, I heard from Kelly that you had been sick and had surgery. I'm so sorry you had to go through that over the holidays. I am glad you are up and about and hope you are feeling much better now!

I'm going to try to be more regular on here in the new year. I am so addicted to Facebook and by the time I do my personal email and other stuff that I need to do in the evenings, I just seem to run out of time, but I'll try to balance my time better!

Karen,
Hope your first day at work went well!!! Hope you are feeling better.....Hot tea with a little honey......will do the trick......hot hot hot !!!!

Hey all

I know some of you have saw, but wanted to let the rest of you know I have continued my TR if you all are interested

Hope everyone is doing well.

We all have colds and you all know about Trent already. He on day 6 of his 10 day meds.

My battery died, my car one, over weekend.

Poor Steve came home from work after working all weekend and had to run around to get a new one

The one he got did not work. HE tried cleaning terminals, whatever that is and nothing

He took it back to walmart, and had the auto people test it, the dumb thing was dead. How heck do they sell a dead battery? Steve was so irked :headache:

Once he got a new one and got it in, started right up.

After being up for 19 hrs, he was finally able to go to sleep

That is my tale for the day :surfweb:

Hey all.........LOVE was in MI over the weekend......yes, weekend.....from FL to Michigan for a weekend!!!! I'm sure it wasnt a good trip for her given the circumstances.......They headed back to FL early Mon. morning.....she should get home late tonight......

I got to see her & Abby for 3 minutes on my street......:rotfl2: (or should I say she was lucky to see UJ!!!) She was just leaving my house with my other SIL (the mean one)......The mean one told me they were leaving cuz they knew I was coming home......just kidding.....they are all very nice SIL's.....Any hoooo......LOVE finally got to see our house......(she has never been to it since we bought it 1 1/2 years ago)......
Then both SIL's teased me.......for what happened too me earlier that day....UJ got stuck in a tree!!!!

I went to take down a 20' tree stand from hunting (60 miles from home).....I didnt think it through.....a 20' tree stand is very big, its a ladder that leans against a tree with a seat at the top, this stand has 2 support arms at approx. 8' and 16'. I took those down first (big dumb mistake).
So when I got to the top and removed the chain and ratchet straps the stand bowed in, way in...like it was going to break.....so I leaned back, then it started to pull away from the tree......like falling backwards to the frozen cornfield ground!!
At this point I really should have worn a depend under garment this day.....I grabbed a hold of a 8" tree next to me.......and held on for dear life, I stepped off the ladder stand on to some 2"-3" branches off of the 8" tree......I just stood there with my arms wrapped around the tree and feet on the small branches......now I'm still at about 18' at this point....if UJ falls, its gonna hurt real bad, like break my ankles and body parts hurt.....so I just stayed there.........
I debated about trying to slide down the tree....cuz I was standing on some pretty small rotted branches......and I didnt have any more I could cliimd down on.....I looked and could see several cut off branches below me at about 6', so if I slide I'm going to pick up speed and go over those jagged parts real fast.......and its going to tear my legs open or worse (yep right in between).
So I stayed there.........Luckily, I did think a little bit that day and brought my cell phone.......I had to call a guy I know who lives about 2 miles from where I hunt, he came out with a ladder and his truck.....He looked up at me when he pulled up and started laughing.....said I was the fatest squirrel up a tree he had ever seen.......I was frozen though, it was about 5 degrees out & windy this day, my hands were numb....feet were getting numb......I also called my wife while I was up there and told her I might not make it.......She wanted to know where my will was at.......:sad2: Love and SIL #2 were at the house so DW filled them in!!!!!:sad2: They all had a good laugh at my expense........:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I know it was probably not funny at the time, but OMG, the image of you in a tree is cracking me up

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

OK its a little funny!!! But that's it.......

I knew you agree eventually :rotfl:

Did you read my update yet? Finally continued it

Got all my pics off facebook and onto photbucket now

Catching up...

Oh my gosh! That sucks! My grandmother had hers out a loooooong time ago. All I remember is that she felt much better afterwards.

Are you feeling better? Are you home from the hospital? I'm not sure how long they keep you for that. Are you going to be off work long? Not real sure about the diet. Like I said, my grandmother had hers out, but she's always been weird. There was a period of time where she ate nothing but baby food, but it was cause she was afraid she'd choke. She has lots of problems eating different things now...probably just cause she's old though.

I got a breadmaker, from my weirdo grandmother. I'm so excited about the silly breadmaker. And Joey actually gave me money towards another tattoo. So with the gift certificate plus the money I can probably get something nice (read...big). Oh, and mom and dad got me a skillet, which I'm also excited over. I'm in desperate need of some good pots and pans.:lmao:

I got the kids rock band 2 and DJ hero, plus a bunch of other small, expensive things. It's amazing how tiny presents cost so much. It really adds up.

I loved all your "hi ____ It's Karen!.." intros. :rotfl2:

when in May are you going? My Mom wants to go to Philly to visit family this summer. Maybe I can convince her to go at that time and I'll be close enough to see y'all right? If you are not there I still want to meet Kelly. :goodvibes My mom's cousin wants to take us to the Jersey Shore one day.

:rotfl2: I laughed at this and the other one.

My mouth dropped open as I read this. I am sooo glad you didn't have to go in til later. When did the pain start? Did it come suddenly? What did they do to see you had a bad gallbladder? Sorry for all the questions!

Merry Belated Christmas everyone. It sounds like everyone had a nice Christmas (and even Jamie...despite the circumstances---but probably had some nice drugs after surgery right? LOL)

Trying to keep it short...I had an attack six weeks ago. They weren't sure, I didn't want them to take it out unless they were sure that's what it was. Christmas Day right after we came home I had an attack and it came on suddenly and fast. Went to ER, they were about to let me go home after some nice pain meds (the nurse told the doctor that I was talking and my eyes started rolling back in my head and he had only given me half of what was ordered- apparently I am a lightweight). They the dr came back and said they were admitting me. High white blood count, infection and they had to give me an mri to make sure none of the bile ducts were blocked. Next day they checked for infection and mri. Third day was surgery and Forth day I went home. I was out for a week. I probably could have worked but sitting up for long periods was hard with the incisions. Oh and the nice drugs after surgery made me want to puke so I had fenegan (sp) which knocked me out.

Trent is sick with cough and now has runs. fun fun
:

Ut oh.

We got sports resort with it... that is what is getting the most play! We also bought a Clone Wars game and the light sabers to put the controller in... hilarious to watch my sons to do that! :rotfl: Then we were at a loss so we bought a sponge bob game.... they haven't paid much attention to that one.

Oh my gosh! I am just seeing this! You poor thing! When I had my gall bladder out it was right after Christmas too! All that food reeks havoc on your gall bladder... I'm guessing you probably already had stones. ???

Mine has been out for 6 years now and I eat all the same crap I ate before I had the stupid thing out.

I didn't get a whole lot for Christmas because Tom and I bought each other sort of lavish anniversary gifts which was 10 days before x-mas. I got him (actually, I sent him to Sear's to get it!) one of those fancy shmancy tool chests for his man cave. He bought me a new camera... I was floored! :lovestruc

We spoiled our kids ROTTEN. That was fun! :cloud9:

I received word today that my friend that is battling breast cancer has taken a turn for the worse. I'm trying to figure out how I can I get up north soon. Please keep her in your prayers.... and me too. I'm going to need some strength. :sad1:

Light sabers sounds like fun!

Nope no stones! Something called "sludge". Gross huh?

Sorry to hear about your friend.

Hey girl

Trent played WII sports the most at first, bowling game

Now he is always playing either Lego star wars or Lego INdiana Jones. Those are his absolute favorite

He just got TOy Story Mania for Christmas and he enjoyed it for about half hr and then he had enough

I played and it was a blast

That is awesome about your anniversary gifts..sound nice

So sorry to hear about your friend

My kids love the Indiana Lego game.

Yeah, this year has been better than others as far as Christmas presents for me goes. Now as for the kids...got them a bunch of things that were small in size, but really expensive. So it didn't seem like they got much, but in reality I spent a ton of money. Right now Shane's playing a baseball game on the Wii and Kyleigh is on my laptop playing Sims World adventures.

I got another wonderful present today. I was on my way to work and a truck threw something at my windshield and put a huge hole in it. So I guess my present to myself is a new windshield for my car.:headache: But hey, I got to come home from work early since it would have gotten me stopped if I would have gone where I was supposed to go. I can't even see out the darn thing!

Do you really bake brownies???:lmao:

Sorry Trent is sick. Hope he's feeling better and stays up to party with you on NYE.

Atlantic City??:sad2::lmao: I think I'm going to my BFF's house and having a sleep over like we used to do when we were young. My mom is keeping the kids and Joey doesn't know what he wants to do. The last thing I want to do is go to one of these crappy bars around here and listen to tone deaf people sing country karaoke. I'll have more fun at the sleep over.:rotfl:

I'm telling ya, get the Rock Band 2!! Well, maybe for next Christmas since it's around $150. My kids love that stupid game. And I like to irritate everybody by singing.:rotfl:

The kids like Rock Band but DS gets a little frustrated.

well, I buy a brownie mix and add, water, vegetable oil and eggs..so guess that is baking

Is there any other way? :lmao:

What's up gang?

Trent has had a cough since last weekend, but thought it was just viral

Good thing I listened to my instincts and took him to the doctors tnite

Turns out he has walking pneumonia in one lung and wheezing. The other one is completely clear

They gave me a nasty antibiotic called augmentin. We got it flavored at walgreens, but still gross. He has to take it twice a day for 10 days..should be fun..NOT

Plus, they gave him oral predisone, to help with wheezing. That is only for 5 days thank god

Hope everyone has a Great New Year!!!

For those going out, Be safe and use a designated driver :grouphug:

Poor Trent!

It is fun but I have to make myself not open it as I get stuck and can't do anything else. Sigh. Now you know why I procrastinated in joining.

Boy this place is really dead. Off to pick up the kiddies. Bye !:yay:
