Something very touching happened to me at the grocery store this afternoon.

No, not that kind of touching... sheesh!

We were in line behind a woman and her daughter and grand-daughter. The little girl was getting a disney princess umbrella. Abby commented how cute it was and asked if she could have one!

I said to the little girl, "Tell her she is too old!"

Then Abby said, "First you tell me I'm too old to trick or treat" (just yesterday!) "and now you tell me I can't get that umbrella!"

The grandmother came up close to us and said, "I lost my daughter last year. She was killed in a car accident. She was only 21. Halloween was her favorite holiday of all! She just loved it. Everything about it."

I immediately told her how sorry I was for her loss and that I would definately let Abby trick or treat! She was happy about that and said, "You just never know what will happen tomorrow."

Then she looked at a recipe book on the rack that had Halloween stuff on it and commented how she couldn't believe it had been almost a year already.

Oh my gosh. I got all teary eyed!! :sad1:

I thanked her for sharing her story with us. I mean, I really thanked her... put my hand on her arm and told her thank you from the heart. It really made me stop in my tracks and want to hold onto my daughter and keep her safe and little always.

So... Abby will be trick or treating until she's 35 if she wants!

Anyway, I thought it was special and wanted to share. :lovestruc

wow, that really gave me goose bumps. That woman was so right. You never know when the last day will be. Hopefully it is years and years down the road but you just never know. We lost my sister at 17 years old. And she trick or treated every year and went to disney and did all sorts of kid things up until the day she passed away. You just don't realize how short life truly is until you suffer the loss of someone so young. I don't wish it on anyone. Not even my worst enemy. But I'm glad you got something out of what that woman was saying to you. It's amazing the ppl we can touch w/o even knowing it.

Carla, I am glad to see you made home okay.

Love, that is a touching story. I ask Kacy every year if maybe she isn't getting too old to trick or treat, she doesn't think so yet. And you are never too old to dress up.

Welcome back Cheri.....hope you had a good trip......:thumbsup2.

Carla and I have it

I think Nikki has it too

I love it

Oh, betsy has it and there is a fun princess game she plays with her DD. Your dd would probably love it too\

Plus it the WII is not like a typical game system. It is very..good exercise :goodvibes

YEs, that's a lovely story and great reminder!!

I went trick or treating until I was a senior! Most of the kids in our area did that...heck, it was the only candy we were going to get unless we bought it ourselves!:rotfl2:

Marshay, we have the Wii. I love it. Scotty use Wii fit and does his yoga and such, I play games, and of course the kids all play games. I like the fact that the games are not quite as violent as most other game systems and it is exercise to play so many of them. One other thing that I like is you can download the old Mario Brothers games onto your Wii. And there are a lot of cute learning games for your girls.

Gotta go.....its almost time for 2 & 1/2 Men then the Big Bang Theory.....
I love those 2 shows!!!!!

Thanks for sharing that Nicole!

Hey Gang! Just doing a quick fly by! So busy getting ready...I always think I have things in order and then there is still more to be done :confused3

Getting Disney stuff ready the rest of tonight. Tomorrow morning StinkberBelle has a field trip to a farm that I volunteered to help with (not realizing it was a day before Dis). Then we have to pickup Frasier and drive 1.5 hours to my Mom's. Plan on staying there for dinner to avoid rush hour traffic then get back home since we have to get up at 4am

Only for Disney would I go through all of this crap :wizard:

Have a great week and I might check in if I have a sec! I'm also available by text too :upsidedow

Love to all :grouphug:

Carla, So glad you made it home safely. Kelly told me earlier and I had no idea there were floods all over up there! I hate that,it doesn't happen often here unless we have a hurricane but when ti does it sucks! Just glad you are safe!

Depressed about 30?!?!?! Tell him I said to quit his cryin'... he can cry when he turns 40! :rotfl2:

So you are driving? How long of a drive is that?

I rode in a car all the way to CA once... it wasn't fun. But then I was only 15 and was crammed in the back seat with my farting little brother... yeah, you'll probably have more fun!

And Vegas baby! That sounds like a lot of fun! You can stay in Vegas for cheap! :thumbsup2

I agree Nicole, Carla tell Chris to suck it up, 30 is nothing, just wait! LOL!!! :lmao:

I love Vegas, that will be awesome!

Hi Love,

Is Abby like Kacy is on Predisone? Grumpy and constantly hungry? I am so glad that we haven't had to do that for a while. And having to hear them cough argh. I am glad it isn't swine flu. I got a text from LeeLee the other day, both boys are real sick with the flu.

That asthma is a bad thing, Trent has it too and Kelly and that worries me. Ive been there when Trent had an attack and it was very upsetting.

That's really a shame that Leah's boys have the flu. I know its bad here, there have been a number of swine flu cases in Louisiana as well.

She isn't grumpy so far but hungry, yes! In fact I've got to run to the store as we have nothing to eat! That will make her grumpy very soon!

That is too bad about LeeLee's boys! I've heard it's been really bad in TX. Slowly they are confirming cases here. I've got to get everyone vaccinated and pray that provides enough of a buffer for me. No flu shots for me because I'm allergic to egg whites.

I'm so sorry Abby is sick but glad she's feeling better already. I had no idea you could not take a vaccine as it was grown in egg whites, this is new to me. I learned something today! Just try not to get the flu but if you do am sure it will be much better than an allergic reaction to those egg whites!

We love Big Bang Theory. I can hardly wait.

Chele...Like your new avatar :thumbsup2

Thanks Kelly.

Have a great trip Betsy!!

Yeah I have read that that is the busy time but we want my friend Becca to come along and that is the only time she will be able to take a vacation 2 weeks long since that is just before school starts for her in Florida. So far I've read that summer is the best time to go and the worst time to go. I guess it all depends on who you ask. But for now I'm thinking it will be good for us since everything will be open and operating and there will be long park hours so I'm really not too worried about it. This will probably be the one and only time we go there so I want to experience everything. Or at least have the opportunity to. Also, we did think about staying off site but Becca has never had the opportunity to stay on site at WDW since she lives so close so she really wants to stay on site. And frankly so do I. So we are going to split a room at the Grand Californian. The room plus a 3 day park hopper will be about what it costs for us to stay at pop century with tickets so I"m not really worried about the cost. Thanks for the tips though and I for sure know where to go if I have any other questions. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Are you going to get to meet Michele when you are out in CA? That would be awesome!
