Awww poor Abby :( Sorry she is so sick but you're a good Mommy recognizing what she has before it had a chance to get too much worse. I'm glad she's already recovering. Hopefully she won't have to miss too much more of school.

hehe :) Sure am. Chris and I were talking about his 30th bday last night and, the planner that I am, just had to have some sort of answer from him as to what he wanted to do to celebrate instead of being all depressed about it like he has been already (the man just turned 29 and he's already anticipating his 30th!!). When I mentioned Disneyland he really lit up at that so now the plans are in motion. I haven't booked yet but I just had to have the ticker so I knew how far away it was from now and how long I would have to pay for the trip. kwim? I plan on paying for the Disney part of things with my Xmas bonus in December after we get back from WDW. The plan is to spend 4 days in Cali (3 at the parks and 1 in Hollywood) and then stop in Vegas on the way home and spend about 3 or 4 days there. Becca and her DH James are going to come with us so we will have plenty of drivers thank goodness. I'm SO excited about it already! :hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper:

Depressed about 30?!?!?! Tell him I said to quit his cryin'... he can cry when he turns 40! :rotfl2:

So you are driving? How long of a drive is that?

I rode in a car all the way to CA once... it wasn't fun. But then I was only 15 and was crammed in the back seat with my farting little brother... yeah, you'll probably have more fun!

And Vegas baby! That sounds like a lot of fun! You can stay in Vegas for cheap! :thumbsup2

Hi Love,

Is Abby like Kacy is on Predisone? Grumpy and constantly hungry? I am so glad that we haven't had to do that for a while. And having to hear them cough argh. I am glad it isn't swine flu. I got a text from LeeLee the other day, both boys are real sick with the flu.

She isn't grumpy so far but hungry, yes! In fact I've got to run to the store as we have nothing to eat! That will make her grumpy very soon!

That is too bad about LeeLee's boys! I've heard it's been really bad in TX. Slowly they are confirming cases here. I've got to get everyone vaccinated and pray that provides enough of a buffer for me. No flu shots for me because I'm allergic to egg whites.

My nephew is too. We need to go get our flu shots but I think it is too late. I got a phone call from the girls school the other day, there were several kids sent home the other day with symptoms. I hope they don't get it. I heard on the news the other day that the cdc says that kids are hit harder by this flu than others. So for once it's good to be over 40.

Carla, you may want to rethink the three days at Disneyland. That is the busy time at Disneyland and you will be fighting crowds. And there are some great offsite places that are the same distance or closer even than the resort hotels that are so much cheaper. If you need any advice feel free to ask.:goodvibes

Yeah I have read that that is the busy time but we want my friend Becca to come along and that is the only time she will be able to take a vacation 2 weeks long since that is just before school starts for her in Florida. So far I've read that summer is the best time to go and the worst time to go. I guess it all depends on who you ask. But for now I'm thinking it will be good for us since everything will be open and operating and there will be long park hours so I'm really not too worried about it. This will probably be the one and only time we go there so I want to experience everything. Or at least have the opportunity to. Also, we did think about staying off site but Becca has never had the opportunity to stay on site at WDW since she lives so close so she really wants to stay on site. And frankly so do I. So we are going to split a room at the Grand Californian. The room plus a 3 day park hopper will be about what it costs for us to stay at pop century with tickets so I"m not really worried about the cost. Thanks for the tips though and I for sure know where to go if I have any other questions. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I know. I told him it wasn't a big deal but to him it is I guess. I'm sure I'll freak on my 30th too LOL!

Yeah. I'm not sure how many hours it is but Chris said it's something like over 2,000 miles. :confused3 He looked it up last night.

Oh man, sharing a seat with a farting brother does not sound like fun at all. I hope on our trip if the boys have to fart that they at least stick their butt out the window to do so

Really? I know nothing about Vegas so I'm gonna have to see about getting a guide book for that too. Rebecca said that since she works for Landrys (the place that owns Rainforest Cafe) they give her discounts every so often for the Golden Nugget Hotel so I'm kind of crossing my fingers for that. :goodvibes

Honestly 30 was harder for me than 40 was, but that is just me.

The Grand is a beauty, the Disneyland Hotel is a classic, and it is more pixie dustish if you know what I mean. And the Paradise Pier is a beachy place. I have stayed at the DLH and the PPH, and the rooms are bigger in both of them. But, the GCH has balconies you can go out sit on, that may no seem like much but I love the idea myself.

It's looking like Chris is the same as you then. Although I anticipate him freaking out over 40 too

Yeah the balconies sound really nice and I like the fact that I can get into CA from the resort and also that the monorail goes right through the resort. This will be the closest I will ever get to what they consider a Deluxe resort at WDW probably.

Please pray that I will be able to find a route to take home. 3 out of the 4 routes I have available to me to get home from work are now fully flooded so I can't go those ways. I have one option left so I'm crossing my fingers that that stays clear for me. I'm so nervous! Never in all my years of living in GA have I seen it rain and flood like this here. This has only ever happened when we lived in South Florida. This is just crazy!!!!! :scared1:

No, the monorail does not go through any of the resorts. It is in downtown Disney area.

Oh gosh Carla. I am praying you get home okay. Please let us know when you get home okay?

hello!

Does anyone have a Wii? Do you like it? and do you use it?

DH says he'd like to get one for Xmas...I'm just scared of the $$$, although I read another thread that said the price is supposed to drop...

You a lurker??? Say it isn't so! :rotfl:

I didn't realize that in addition to the training trip, your family of 4 gets a "reward" trip too! how cool is that!:thumbsup2

I know, strange isn't it :rotfl:

Oh wow really...that is awesome :thumbsup2

Yeah he really is great! :lovestruc

What she said :thumbsup2

Loving the new ticker!!!!!!! :woohoo:

Well, I was right. It's pneumonia. At least I have learned to recognize it very early on so she doesn't get really bad. She started an antibiotic and prednisone yesterday and is actually feeling better already. She's home with me again today though... still running a low-grade fever and she needs a treatment every 4 hours anyway.

So Carla... planning ahead, I see! ;)

Aww..poor abby

glad she is on road to recovery :goodvibes

You guys are going to have a blast

That will be so fun to plan :wizard:

That is awful

Hope u got home okay

Plus it the WII is not like a typical game system. It is very..good exercise :goodvibes

So did you do Big River Grille?????

we sure did. I was gonna have their pale ale and then I saw they had a drink called "Lit up" which was pretty much just a Long Island without the tequila...but I got it and it was delish!

the food was alright.

Hey girlie

The packlage was underneath a bus that was in shop for routine mainteance

Sounds like a good plan today

Hope it all works out :goodvibes

thanks for the info. I had to nix a little bit of the plans but was able to do most all of the "new" plans. And THEN some...I'll have to explain that later...

I'm back here and just jumping in feet first!

I'll ask our DISland gossip reporter to let me know any breaking news I should be aware of :flower3:

I leave for Disney on Wednesday @ 7am and I'm ::hyper::

I bet you are SO excited! Sorry we missed each other by half a week. boo! :sad2:

I got the following text.

"Just got out of recovery & got to my room & get this _ I never heard for my husband until I text messaged him 5 min ago. Good thing I have friends. :)"

My thoughts. What a jerk.

I got that one too. Such a shame!

http://morris-aviaries.ispeedway.com/Images/Sun Conure.jpg

This is what a sun conure is. I couldn't find a picture on this computer to show you of Cha Cha so this is one I got from google.

that's a beautiful bird!

PUIing...bear with me.

Thanks. I love you all.

Thanks...so far they seem to be working.

I've always wanted to go there. I would surprise you. While killing is my favorite topic in music, I do have a tendency to listen to some rap. AND I was in the marching band and orchestra when I was in school, and can plahy lots of different instruments. I really like watching other people dlo that. I think my kids might like that place, too. A re kids allowed in?

I'm pretty sure kids are NOT allowed. Sorry.

Oh by the way, did I mention the free popcorn? You serve yourself. It's yum!

Oh, yeah...you gotta watch Stacy at least 26 times while your're at Disney world. They have her on the tv at universal too so I was watching her in June. Joe thought I had officially lost my mind. I said they changed it. I t used to be the 7 must dos or something and its different now.

Hmm...I don't think it changed. I can't count how many times I heard the phrase "here are the must-do's that you MUST DO to DO the must-do's at Disney"

Typhono Lagoon is better! Don't listen to me. I've never evben been o Blizzard beach. My kids just said its better.

it's a little less walking I think. And they have the Crush n Gusher which is a "water coaster" so that is the big draw there.

Kelly #2 said:
You did go to TL! Woo!!What did you do. Did you get in the wave ppol? Ride the slides? The lazy river? Details!

Can I just say I hate disney transoppotation.,,yeah I'm not retyping that. I am either driving my own car there or renting one from now on. And earl of s again? That's where you were last year when you texted me and we were both in DTD, but I din't hear the textt go off and I missed you.

No bacon?

Yes, we did the wave pool. And I lost my new sunglasses(from Rainforest) in it. But I found them too. Starting asking around, and just when I was about to give up, I asked one last person and he had them in his hand. :goodvibes

We did the lazy river for a while, that was SO nice. I did some sunbathing too. And we did all the rides once, including the crush n gusher 4 times -- 2 times on one of the slides, and one time each on the other 2 slides.

We totally LOVE Earl of Sandwich. I think we ate there twice last year, actually. One of THE best Counter Service restaurants on property.

Yes, of course bacon! We both got each other at separate times in the trip. Both on the bus of course. When I got him the bus was super crowded and it was dark. Since it was so dark I missed the looks on people's faces. :rotfl:

I had to explain the Grandma story to a guy on the other bus when Mike did it. It actually felt good to re-tell it, now that my Grandma is gone. We will always do this in rememberence of her.

They are so organized. you should have seen what kyleigh packed to go to orlando. Winter clothes in June, hardly any shorts, and 6 bathing suits. I swear she threw every pair of underwear she owned into that suitcase. Needless to say, I had to redo it.

This cracked me UP! Glad you actually checked her packing out and re-did it. Imagine if you hadn't looked!! I packed nearly everything for Mike this year. He only put in like 2 things. I then reminded him to make sure he had his sunglasses and a baseball cap. He forgot both. Ended up buying sunglasses at Rainforest Cafe (none of Disney's were good enough), and I snagged a pair there too. $13, not bad at all. Was glad he waited cause Disney's were more expensive.
Then he got a $10 hat on clearance at Harley Davidson. He was totally thrilled.

oh and he said I did a great job packing for him. He liked all the shirts I packed.

So Chris surprised me with Wii Sports Resort and Midway Mania Arcade today. Both are AWESOME! I highly recommend them for anyone that has a Wii :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

MMA sounds like the Toy Story ride! Which by the way, I beat Mike on once! I just posted the pic to FB. LOL

I hear ya! I'll be jealous the week I get back of anyone leaving in the near future

AWESOME :woohoo: I have really wanted to get the Sports Resort!

That's a great hubby :goodvibes

I am taking everything under the sun to fight this cold! It's not super bad and I would like to keep it that way.

I'm hoping StinkerBelle does sleep but she claims she will be ready for the day  We let her pick what we are doing the first day...as if it would been anything other than the Magic Kingdom :woohoo:

Let me tell you...this necklace search has been insane. I saved the garbage from the bathroom from that day because that's the last place the necklace was seen. Today I went through the garbage AGAIN and could not believe my eyes! I had gone through twice before...apparently not as thorough as I had thought!

wow, so you found it in the garbage can??

SO SO Sorry you are sick. Hope you feel better. At least you are sick NOW and it should hopefully be gone by Disney. *fingers crossed*
I brought home a lovely souvenir...a cold. Despite taking Airborne when my throat started to hurt a few days before the end. I had to buy $9 sudafed decongestant while there. I even considered bringing my Sudafed 12 hour to Disney, and thought "Nahh, I won't get sick, and I don't want to jinx myself" so I left it at home. Shoulda brought it as it is the stuff that works best for me and Disney didn't have it!

Good Morning!

CrazyDisneyPrincess.jpg

I'm in a silly mood today...hehehe!

well of course you are, you're goin' to Disney!

Hey, Sharky -- I haven't seen you on the Moms Panel thread...have you been lurking there?

We found out that Disney has been reading the essays...the contest closed Sunday (yesterday) and we should hear who makes the next round about Oct 7th or so

super sweet!

You a lurker??? Say it isn't so! :rotfl:

I didn't realize that in addition to the training trip, your family of 4 gets a "reward" trip too! how cool is that!:thumbsup2

EVEN MORE super DUPER sweet!

I am crossing my fingers for y'all!

I had no idea you can't get a flu shot if you are allergic to egg whites. Why is that?

Because the serum is grown in egg whites. Weird, huh? My doctor a long time ago said to trust him, I'd rather have the flu than an allergic reaction to the vaccine. :sad2:

Good, I was just about to ask!

No, the monorail does not go through any of the resorts. It is in downtown Disney area.

Oh gosh Carla. I am praying you get home okay. Please let us know when you get home okay?

I must have read that wrong in the UG then. But I'll still be walking distance from the monorail since DTD will be right outside my door at the GC. :thumbsup2

Thanks, I did make it home safely. Took about an hour and 45 min. Was a crazy drive! And it is STILL raining!!!

hello!

Does anyone have a Wii? Do you like it? and do you use it?

We have one. If I had kids I would probably use it more but I do enjoy it from time to time. Not sure about the price drop since it's already the cheapest system out there but you never know.

Loving the new ticker!!!!!!! :woohoo:

That sounds so awesome Carla.

You guys are going to have a blast

That will be so fun to plan :wizard:

I'm so excited!!! :goodvibes

As you know I did make it home. Thanks girl!

Something very touching happened to me at the grocery store this afternoon.

No, not that kind of touching... sheesh!

We were in line behind a woman and her daughter and grand-daughter. The little girl was getting a disney princess umbrella. Abby commented how cute it was and asked if she could have one!

I said to the little girl, "Tell her she is too old!"

Then Abby said, "First you tell me I'm too old to trick or treat" (just yesterday!) "and now you tell me I can't get that umbrella!"

The grandmother came up close to us and said, "I lost my daughter last year. She was killed in a car accident. She was only 21. Halloween was her favorite holiday of all! She just loved it. Everything about it."

I immediately told her how sorry I was for her loss and that I would definately let Abby trick or treat! She was happy about that and said, "You just never know what will happen tomorrow."

Then she looked at a recipe book on the rack that had Halloween stuff on it and commented how she couldn't believe it had been almost a year already.

Oh my gosh. I got all teary eyed!! :sad1:

I thanked her for sharing her story with us. I mean, I really thanked her... put my hand on her arm and told her thank you from the heart. It really made me stop in my tracks and want to hold onto my daughter and keep her safe and little always.

So... Abby will be trick or treating until she's 35 if she wants!

Anyway, I thought it was special and wanted to share. :lovestruc

Silly Cheri

Thanks so much girl. I plan on booking the room with my xmas bonus in December. Can't wait to actually get the trip booked. Will feel more real then! :woohoo:

I didn't know that either :confused3

yup Yup!

Good, I was just about to ask!

That really IS weird. And agreed, you want the flu over an allergic reaction for sure!

Thanks for thinking of me :goodvibes I'm safe and sound
