anyone else applying to be on the Disney Mom's Panel? I just submitted my application...

:woohoo: I got my bangs trimmed at lunch for free (my salon doesn't charge for that), then went to Walmart's nail salon, Regal Nails, for a pedicure (french tip) and got talked into a french manicure too. I was SUPER glad I did it, because my nails (REAL nails) look BEAUTIFUL! I am really impressed with their work. It was $41 (plus tip). I had never before been to Regal Nails! But I will most certainly return.

My feet and hands are now perfectly presentable for Mickey. :rotfl:

I need to do that also, at least the fingernails. Mine are horrible, all chipped, broken and ragged, they grow a little then they break! I try to hide my hands most of the time.:sad2:

Shopping was a success!!

I went to Target and found some flip flops. They were $12.99...I actually might go to Shoe Dept tomorrow and see if I can find some I like better. I only bought the ones at Target cause I saw them, they were brown, and somewhat comfortable.

We also went to TJ Maxx where I found Mike a pair of shorts on clearance for $10 (he really could use them since he's not a big shorts wearer so doesn't have that many). And I didn't think it would happen but I found the exact bra I was hoping to find!! It's a Calvin Klein bra in white that is just like a black one I got a few weeks ago at a different TJ Maxx. Only $12 :thumbsup2

Then we went to Walmart where I got a 97 cent extension cord (for the laptop in the room in case we need it), neosporin, special blister bandages (which I couldn't find last time I went to Walmart), a folder to put my Disney documents in, travel lysol, travel febreeze, more gum (orbit), and travel shave gel for both Mike and I.

I think I can honestly say I am DONE buying for this trip. 2 days ahead. :rotfl: I also cleared out the junk in my car this afternoon (since my parents will have it at their house, and not that they need it but they can take it wherever they please).

I ordered my sunshine rewards $50 disney gift card about a month ago, but it still hasn't arrived. Needless to say I am pretty peeved!!! I hope I am lucky and it comes tomorrow or Friday!!!! Oh please oh please oh please!!!

Mike has been instructed to do ONE THING tomorrow or Friday: Get a few rolls of quarters from the bank for the penny presses. (We have some pennies...although not brand new)

Tomorrow I'm hoping to get my pedicure, and I'll wash my new bra and Mike's shorts, and any last minute things.

Just 2 more days of work, then I'm officially on vacation!!!

Sounds like a ton of great buys

Hope mike gets those pennies for you

I hope your SR card comes. Fingers crossed :wizard:

Ugh! I spoke too soon. Leg still hurts. I guess it's just a matter of how much I've inflamed the nerve during the day as to how much it really hurts.

aww...that stinks

I just read the full terms and conditions of the Disney online-check in process....

I'll leave out the boring stuff...and highlight THIS:

Neither I nor any member of my party occupying any resort accommodation have/has any intention of making, and will never make, this resort accommodation a legal domicile or principal dwelling. My/our legal domicile is and shall forever be outside the Walt Disney World Resort.

Anyone find this just the least bit HILARIOUS?? I mean do they legally have to put that in there? If I was going to live anywhere at WDW, it would be Cinderella's castle. ;)

That is a riot :lmao:

That is awesome that you do not get charged for bangs :thumbsup2

Glad you got it all done....now you are set for the Big Cheese :wizard:

Cool! good luck!

Cheri -- You know you don't have to be a mom to make it on the panel. Feel free to apply, too! They really are looking for all kinds (most will be moms but not all...)

you should get a manicure!

I am glad my nails were relatively long. (well, they were pretty long til 2 of them BROKE on me this week! :headache:) She cut the rest of my nails shorter, not quite as short as the broken ones, but once the french manicure is complete you can't really tell unless I put my hands together--then you can see that the right index fingernail is slightly shorter. She did the white part as thick as the left side so you can't tell unless I put them right next to each other. :thumbsup2
I can't. I really have no nails to speak of right now. I could always get those horrible fake ones on, I guess. But my nails are in such bad shape as it is. I don't want to make it worse.

Pictures! We like pictures.:lmao:

That is freakin hilarious.......you know what this is for right?? Illegals, cubans, defectors, etc. They will try to claim residency and use the address for documents.....they will say they have a contract for residency there...(by renting a room for $$ you enter in to a contract).....what a deal......Its probablly in all hotel contracts in some way!!!!

BTW, I'm living at Epcot.....I have fallen asleep on the dinosaur ride.....those moving benches are kind of comfy.......then you can eat foods from all over the world......and go on vacation to different countries.....go fishing at Coral Reef.....rock cliimbing in Canada!!!

yeah I knew that Dad's were also encouraged to apply. But I didn't know non-parents were allowed. I think I'll leave it to you Mom's, :thumbsup2 I would have no insight on travelling with children

Thanks for letting me know, though.

Agreed. I know nothing about traveling with kids yet either. :confused3

well I am paid up on all bills due this week and next (car note, student loan, mortgage) and got different denominations of cash out of the bank at lunch. Also got some quarters for the pressed penny machines. And I'm so crazy that last night I printed off the master list from Allears.net and went through all our pressed pennies and quarters, checking off the ones we had. It was NOT an easy task, as most of them don't have any indication of which park or resort they came from. At least half I'd say.

All my docs are printed, my check-list for tonight is ready, & my final packing list is printed and ready to be checked off when I verify everything tonight and tomorrow morning. :thumbsup2

Most importantly, I checked in for our Southwest flight and got boarding passes A18 and A19!! :woohoo:

Hmm...what else...

Rock Band all the way girl!! Guitar Hero just isn't what it used to be.

Well, I have a little pressure in my back but it's mostly in the back of my thigh. And it hurts more when I put pressure on my left hip. Which is around the area the sciatic nerve is. I asked my sister if she had any of this in early pregnancy and she said yes she did with all 4 of her kids. Not that it is for sure pregnancy but I'd like to think it is a nice sign of that instead of just my body starting to fall apart :rotfl:

For sure! :thumbsup2

Well, I'm about to head home from work girls! I'll try to come back on later when I take a break from Rock Band. Hope everyone has a great afternoon!!

Hmm any reason why one is better than the other? We are really looking for one that is more family friendly. Plus it has to have some older songs if I want my DH to play :sad2:

I had a problem with my sciatic nerve when I was pregnant with DS, but the issue was much different. I was probably about 7 months along and big as a house. It started with shooting pain up and down my leg and into my back. I remember getting off the shuttle bus to my car one day at work and had to stop in the middle of the parking lot because the pain was so intense and I could feel my leg giving out. I stood there for like 15 minutes before it suddenly subsided. Two weeks later the pain disappeared. The doctor said the baby probably moved and was pressing on something that was pressing on a nerve. When he moved again, poof the pressure was relieved and the pain was gone.

Hey, I saw the Ronnie James Dio version of Black Sabbath last year. They're all pushing 70 and they were great. Didn't need walkers to get them around on stage or anything!:thumbsup2

I had a boyfriend who used to play Holy Diver and the Last in Line over and over again. :lmao:

omg I LOVE Mellow Mushroom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *drool*

Glad we could entertain

I heard they are building one in Covington like half way between me and Cheri!

well, New Orleans drinks are expensive too, but not NEARLY as delicious (or even as strong) as Disney drinks!!

Are you going to make an appointment? Or you mean you are waiting to do that?

uh girl you are drinking in the wrong places in New Orleans :lmao::lmao:

BTW, TTA is set to re-open on Sept 12th. Didn't know if you had seen that yet. :thumbsup2

Woo Hoo! Haven't been on that one since 2003!

Let's hope not.

Guess that kills our dreams of living on property.:lmao:

Can you believe it's my own nails? I'm still in disbelief, I stare at them a lot.

You're not getting a picture of my feet.

Does anyone know how I can find out if the Saints game (vs Detriot Lions) is going to air in Orlando this Sunday?? I tried googling, and also tried Fox Sports' website (to see if it was one of their "main" games, but I couldn't find that info)

The reason I ask is because I'm in a football pool...LOL And I figured if we're back in the room at the time that the game is on, we might as well turn it on. We'll be starting our meal at Le Cellier right about when the game starts -- so I'm thinking we might be taking a break at the resort after our meal, and the game would still be going on.
