C'mmon Peachie, play nice.

Awww, that's not any fun. Besides, after all the hoopla over Edwards combing his hair, do you really expect me to just let this one go by quietly?

I'm only human, for God's sake!!!!

Besides, it's just a one finger victory salute...:)

I have no objection to dmanman posting. I have a problem with him/her posting why he won't vote for Kerry on THIS thread.

But hey I'm used to being in the minority - I live in Republican, Southern Baptist, Busch beer swilling country! dmanman, if you play nice I will too. But remember, I have dog poop on my Kerry signs to discourage the goons and I know how to fling it.:teeth:

Oh, funny aside here. Since I was supposed to be baking "special" treats for election day I guess my eye was especially drawn to the news that the local, um distribution agent in my area was busted a couple of days ago. What to do? What to do?

no, that's not true, unless i'm looking at a different page.

no matter what questions you answer yes/no too, once you fall below 6 you don't count.

I think we're on the same page. Yes it seems if you drop below 6 you're not likely. But a lot seems to hinge on that question 2. If you're registered and know where to vote, even if you haven't voted there before, you're probably likely. If you're registered but do not know where to vote, you're probably not likely. If you're not even registered then it would stand to reason you probably wouldn't know where to vote so you would answer a no. You can answer all the other questions in the strong affirmative and give yourself a 10 on the likely to vote scale but if you're not registered and don't know where to vote, they consider you not likely to vote.
Interesting.

I live in Republican, Southern Baptist, Busch beer swilling country!

Hey, you live in Oklahoma too?:teeth:

No, you're right. That's what happened when I tested it too. Any no will automatically drop you to a 6, no matter how you answer the last question.

Btw, I'm not feeling the love on my Bush video thread!!!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to pop over and wish you all well. I'm not a Kerry supporter, but I'm looking forward to chatting it up w/ you again next week when the elections will hopefully be over. :wave2: Ta ta for now! :)

I don't know...it sounds kind of like Texas too.

Is it really only 6 days until election day? Finally!!! :hyper:

Actually I'm from what our two U.S.Senators call Miss-oor-UH!

You know the state where a dead man beat John Ashcroft for U.S. Senate.:teeth:

Six days? I have GOT to get busy and find a new dealer, er I mean small business owner.

I was trying to find the picture of that baby on the right to show my daughter, but I couldn't remember who she belonged to.
What a cutie patootie.

dmanman34, I have to ask you: What part of "For Kerry Supporters Only" do you not get.

Am I being rude? Sorry, but I'm taking my lead from you. I'm not reading or posting on the Bush Supporters thread because I'M NOT A BUSH SUPPORTER.

I'd don't want to know on a Kerry Supporter thread why you won't be voting for Kerry. Why do you feel you need to continue?

My apologies. However, I just couldn't let the JFK reference pass without comment. Caroline has to know in her heart John Kerry is nothing close to her father as a politician or a presidential candidate. I understand her wanting to defend her party, she's walking the party line. But, to suggest we have the second coming of John F. Kennedy in Kerry does her father a disservice. I think I've shown I'm not as "right wing" as you would think by stating that were the REAL JFK were running today I would vote for him. Moreover, the election would be no contest. If Kerry supporters were honest with themselves I would think they would agree.

I would have expected intolerance to contrary opinions on the Bush thread given the perception most people have of conservatives, but certainly not here. I think I've been more than respectful when I've come to this thread. I think peachgirl and I had a rather civil exchange regarding the email article. But, I'll respect your wishes and slither back to the cesspool as was described here earlier. Again, my apologies.

Good evening all! I sure do wish you wouldn't turn the lights out when you all leave at night ;)

Just wanted to drop in and say a great big congrats to FIK! That's wonderful news and the best early holiday gift your daughter could give. You both are truly blessed.

OK, now I'm off to find all the  threads that got folks worked up today.

Did I miss a thread about Edwards combing his hair? If so, I'd be interested to revive it by posting a link I found (and need to find again) with video of Bush having his hair combed for him before a TV interview. At least Edwards can comb his own hair. :)

Time for a little surfing... It shouldn't take much time since I know it was on one of the Bush humor sites I've visited recently. Oh man what am I thinking, this will be like finding a needle in a hay field (yes I meant field since a haystack would be a much smaller target area).

I missed the Edwards thread also. No regrets mind you. I just have to say I am surprised that any republican would want to discuss combing of hair after we have all seen how Wolfie does it.

Hey crazyforgoofy...
I am just North of you in the fabulous swing state of Iowa!

If all goes well, tomorrow I will be hangin' out with John Edwards, Leo Di Caprio, and (sigh) Jon Bon Jovi!

I think Iowa is actually decided, but no one is telling until Brad Pitt shows up!

Amazing, I found it before DD has a melt down cause it's her turn to use the computer. Here it is for anyone interested. Feel free to share the link with your friends... and other. :)

BTW - Here's a what the Smoking Gun noted about this BBC clip:

MARCH 21, 2003--The British Broadcasting Corporation has apologized to the White House for its broadcast Wednesday night of a live Oval Office feed showing President George W. Bush preparing for his speech announcing the start of the Iraqi war. Administration officials are apparently steamed because Bush was seen having his hair primped and readied by a female stylist armed with a comb and hairspray. Below you'll find a screen grab from the BBC feed as well as a 10-second snippet from the unauthorized TV transmission.

I think peachgirl and I had a rather civil exchange regarding the email article.

Yes we did and it was actually quite pleasant.

As for the Kennedy comparisons....

I wonder sometimes if perhaps time and circumstances make us look at Kennedy as something more than he was.

I know one of the saddest days I've had was when John Kennedy Jr. died, because with him went the last link to his father, at least as far as a possible political future. I had always thought that someday he would get into politics and perhaps even run for President.

So, no, I don't believe John Kerry is comparable to JFK, but I don't know if it's because he's not the man JFK was or if he's not the man we want to believe JFK was.....if that makes any sense at all.

And please don't slither off anywhere. The only time I pull my fangs out on this thread is when someone comes in and wants to flood this thread with cut and pastes or just wants to be insulting so they can go back and report how mean and nasty we are.

Btw, let's clear up the slithering to the cesspool. The poster of that comment never said the Bush thread was a cesspool. She said for the poster, who was being extremely obnoxious, to go back to whatever cesspool he came from. It was the Bush thread that decided they were indeed the cesspool. Just a fyi.....:D

I'm hoping we surprise everyone with a much closer race in Mis-ooor-E than the Bushies expect. I'm SO jealous that you'll have a fun time tomorrow. Brad Pitt should spend some time in his own home state - that's here. But after all he is from SW Missouri and that's scary Ashcroft country!

I won't get into a Kennedy and Kerry comparison. I adored John Kennedy with the heartfelt worship of a kid and feel he did some wonderful things and would have done much more. I also think he made some errors in judgement. I think John Kerry has great potential but don't expect him or anyone to be another John Kennedy. I believe the two men have some important things in common. One of those things is intelligence and another is vision.

This is exactly how I feel too. I agree totally with you and FIK.

I want to know if during Viet Nam, was the commentary coming out about how positive the war was while it was going on? Is it only years later that the truth comes out? You know how they critique an administration years later in a more realistic way!

I bet that ten, or twenty years from now all we are going to hear about is how big of a mistake it was to go to war with Iraq. Mark my words!::yes::

By 1968, after the Tet Offensive, American support for the war started to go down steadily.

Also in 1968, America voted in Nixon for President. One of his campaign themes was he had a secret plan to end the war.

In October 1969, we had the Moratorium in millions of Americans showed their disapproval of the war.

By the time John Kerry came home from VietNam, support for the war was way down. No, as far as I can remember, there weren't all these glowing reports about what was going in VietNam.

I can't honestly remember any returning soldier from VietNam who had a good thing to say about the war. They were proud of their sevice, but they had nothing good to say about the war.

You have to remember something else about VietNam. There was a draft and taxes were levied to pay for the war.

Compare that today. I really believe one of the biggest reasons so many Republicans support the war in Iraq and Bush is because they don't have to fight this war and they don't have to pay for it. This is indeed, the perfect war.
