LisaZoe, I am appalled that you would take pride in someone being told to slither back to the cesspool they came from, and to call Bush supporters who've visited this thread "infiltrators"?? Is this the example you would want to set for your daughter, who, by the way, is adorable.
I'm sorry you misinterpreted my comment. I was actually referring to some rather funny "repartee" from the usual posters to this thread when others came in to try to "rile" them up. I was not speaking of any one post and, to be honest, probably hadn't paid a lot of attention to the specific comment to which you referred. It was pretty obvious there was some common animosity between those two posters since the one from the "Bush camp" even posted to the Bush Supporter thread about it.
If you'd take the time to read some of my posts, I think you'll find I try to take a humorous approach to confrontation. Early in this thread you'll see that many of us quickly turned to using humor to express our incredulity at some of the accusations made by a few of the Bush supporters. This lead to comments about pizza, pot, cocaine, illegal voters, etc. After one of the Bush supporters posted to this thread a few times, I joked about "them" listening. This was, again, a way to show just how absurd it is to think that we could have a private discussion on a public forum. As peachgirl pointed out, the term "infiltrators" was also used in a humorous way ealier in the thread and I used it in the same way.
What I also find very amusing is the superiority expressed by some on the Bush thread about this one and our childish behavior, bad manners, etc. It's as if they are taking the "moral high road" and we are nothing but lackwits and degenerates. I think neither side has claim to sole custody of either. I believe the Bush side generally consists of reasonable and caring people with a small number who are not. It seems, though, that many who post to the Bush thread are not willing to think the same of us in return. If I am to be judged by the company I keep... than I'm quite willing to be judged with those on this thread... because we are much more funny.
As for your concerns about my DD and my influence on her, you should take the time to read one of my earlier posts on this thread and some on "parental" threads before you question my parenting. On this one, I stated unequivocally that I do not discuss politics around my DD nor will I try to influence her choice as she grows older.
I am "appalled" by the number of posters on the Bush thread who have no hesitation to indoctrinate their children. What's going to happen when Kerry wins? Will they face teasing at school because they don't support the current President? I've seen how cruel children can be to others who are "different" in some way. As such, I am very concerned about how these children will be treated by their peers after the election if they are now "parroting" their parents' comments in support of Bush and against Kerry (again, I'm aware that Bush supporters are not the only ones who may be doing this but since I believe Kerry will win, I'm not as concerned right now about those children being ostracized).
Now, we definitely agree my DD is adorable so you obviously can't be all wrong.
