For fun: Curing the WDW withdrawls between trips.

Oh yes! Recently, I think I've gained an addiction to them. When I'm working, I'll randomly turn on either the DIS Unplugged, WDW Today, the Disney Parks Podcast, Inside the Magic, or the Be Our Guest Podcast. Each day, I seem to find a new one that I listen to on a regular basic (the only exception is WDW Radio; I may be the only Disney fan who can't stand it). I'd definitely give the podcasts a try though!:goodvibes

Ok, this is REALLY sad for someone in my generation, but I have never listened to a podcast & I'm not sure I even know how to! I know you can buy them on iTunes but are there free ones somewhere? What exactly are you turning on when you turn on "wdw today?" Is there an app for this?

Sorry I am SO clueless--& am thread-hijacking a little. But to bring it back around---I would love to be able to listen to these podcasts to cure my between-trip depression but I don't know how to get them!

Podcasts are typically free, and I know that most, if not all, of the ones andyman8 listed are free.

If you have an iPhone, iPod, or iPad then listening to them is easy and they can be accessed via the App Store.

i have to strike a balance!! i try not to go too crazy reading/thinking/shopping/watching disney otherwise i will just depress myself because i'm not there. i come on this board every day and read stuff on the theme park, resort, and restaurant threads. i sometimes go on the disney website and plan a trip just to see prices and think about when i might be able to make it back. and i watch disney movies quite often!

We just returned from WDW and don't get to make it there more than every few years. I made a screen saver for my computer with pictures I took in the parks. I took lots of scenic shots - without our family posing - of beautiful scenes in Epcot and MK. I have some of the iconic castle, some of the outsides of the rides, some of the beautiful flowers at Epcot. I just love sitting down at my computer and seeing which picture is there! I'm not sure why I prefer to do this without the great family pictures we took, but I think at some level it makes me feel for a split second like I'm there and seeing it instead of looking at pictures of a past trip. I also love listening to the music from the parks and serving my daughter breakfast on Mickey Mouse plates. :)

I definitely felt the same way just under a year ago. In fact, it wasn't until last November when I started listening to them. Like Mesaboy2 said, most podcasts are free and can be subscribed to by iTunes. The ones I listed in my OP are all free. Some podcasts come out weekly, some come out twice a week, and some even come out three times a week. Generally, the more frequent the podcast comes out, the shorter the episodes (i.e. WDW Today comes out M, W, and F, but each is only 20 to 30 minuted). While the podcasts provide little actual tips (maybe other than dining and hotel reviews), they give me my "Disney fix".

As for accessing them, I honestly just go to their websites and listen to them there. If I'm going for a long car ride, then I'll explicitly download this week's episode on iTunes, but that's a rarity for me.

In recent years, podcasts have also become a lot more interactive. Most, if not all, hold live shows once a month where you can call in and ask questions or provide commentary, meanwhile there's a chatroom going. In fact, now the DIS Unplugged broadcasts live on Tuesdays every week in video with a simultaneous chatroom going. While I'm usually working at 1pm, I don't generally participate, but you can find the videos on YouTube (they're generally uploaded Tuesday night or Wednesday morning).

Podcasts are certainly not for everyone, but they can be a great way to get your weekly (or three times a week) Disney fix.

I look for more information about the Resort we just stayed in. We were at Pop, and I am learning all about it as well as reading the stories of the Legendary Years section.

I search for other Resorts info, trying to decide where to stay in the next trip.

I also hit the local Disney Stores to get T-shirts and stuff for next trip.

Scrapbooking for the recent trip.

Planning and dreaming about staying at Tokyo Disney Resort Hotel. It is so pricey that it's hard to justify a stay, but I really really want to do it. So, I look into it and plan to see how the trip would look like if we ever do it.

My daughter and I will watch youtube videos or look at our own family pics and videos of vacations past. I will also plan out a possible trip, playing with different budgets. I also love wearing the clothes I bought in Disney, brings me back a little.
