Thought this would be a fun thread to start. What things do you do to help get over the withdrawal of WDW before your next visit? Here are a few things I do for fun

View Google Earth or Google Maps satellite photos of the parks

Look at available ADRs for that day. (I don't actually make an ADR, I just look to see where I could eat dinner if I could magically snap my fingers and be there)

Listen to Disney music

Watch the Disney Planning DVD

Ok, so what are some things you do? :)

MAKE maps of WDW. ;)

Discuss things on this and other Disney boards.

Answer variations of the same dozen or so questions several times a day. ;)

I read www.easywdw.com. I like the pictures he posts of the parks and resorts. Makes me feel like I've had a little taste of Disney in my day and keeps me updated on any changes and any new things.

I usually watch POV videos of the rides. Been doing that for weeks in prep for my upcoming trip next month. LOL

Also, today I bought vanilla ice cream & pineapple juice to make my own poor man's Dole Whip float. :p

Read variations of mesaboy2s answers:lmao:

Actually I spend a lot of time watching Disney Movies and scoping out eBay for the "one" thing I don't have :thumbsup2

Love the idea of checking ADRs for the day!

My sister and I are the big Disney fans in the family so we talk almost every day about our upcoming trips. We've planned out trips for the next three years, haha!

I also spends tons of time on DIS giving advice for other travelers. Talking/reading about other people's trips eases my Disney depression for sure!

I've been trying to muster up the courage to just drive myself to the airport, get a standby ticket, and go for a day...my WDW withdrawls are so bad!

The only things that get me through are reading the disboards (dining reviews, trip reports, news/updates, etc.) and looking at pictures online. I also like to recreate some recipes from WDW at home, like the chewy caramel bars from werthers in epcot! Also shopping at the disney store and disneystore.com make me feel better too :)

No joke. I live 10 to 15 min from the airport. Its a daily struggle!

I mostly read AllEars and a few boards like this one.

I also peruse YouTube for classic WDW videos, such as the EPCOT Center opening with Danny Kaye. However, before my most recent visit, I purposely did not watch videos of Voyage of the Little Mermaid or Test Track 2.0, because I wanted to be surprised.

I do most of what you all have mentioned :wave2: (withdrawal is horrible isn't it?) but I also LOVE to listen to Disney World related podcasts.

There are some fantastic ones out there!!

Oh yes! Recently, I think I've gained an addiction to them. When I'm working, I'll randomly turn on either the DIS Unplugged, WDW Today, the Disney Parks Podcast, Inside the Magic, or the Be Our Guest Podcast. Each day, I seem to find a new one that I listen to on a regular basic (the only exception is WDW Radio; I may be the only Disney fan who can't stand it). I'd definitely give the podcasts a try though!:goodvibes

Agree, I forgot about the podcasts. Most of these I listen to fairly regularly while in the car, and when I run out I'll put on the radio apps--MW Radio or Subsonic are my favorites.

The only hang up I have with the podcasts is they occasionally give out wrong info, and that drives me crazy. On a recent one one of the podcasters, who was at one time an attraction CM, claimed the minimum age to ride an attraction alone was 14--and said it several times. I shake my head.

I price out trips and text the details to my DW at work. She didn't go for my idea of the Poly week of Christmas. Trying to convince her to do the week both of our birthdays fall in May in addition to the week we have planned this summer. Pays to live right next to ORD and have APs.

I try not to suffer from withdrawal :thumbsup2 I have been consistently giving in. I have a candle from Bath and Body works (Paris Amour) that reminds me of Soarin' :cool1: that I burn while listening to Theme Park music on Satellite radio...and I check these boards everyday. I also keep a Disney box that I am always adding to...ponchos, laundry sheets...$ store stuff. I help others plan their trips. I look at airfare daily and check the cruise rates. I price out and save offers on the website and I LOVE the Disney park bench videos :cheer2: There's no point fighting it.....:rotfl:

This past week was Spring Break and we had a "not going to Disney" party with two other families who were also not going to WDW this year.We had trivia, a Magic Kingdom map challenge, and word searches for the kids, who also played Disney Headbandz and Just Dance Disney version. Our friends brought homemade Mickey rice Krispie treats and homemade dole whips. We also all looked at each others scrapbooks and photo albums. We all dressed like we were going to Disney and the kids got Disney pins for their game prizes. Not the same as actually going, but it was fun.

This is awesome!!!! Love this idea!

We watch Disney videos (obviously) and play lots of games! We have Disney Scrabble, Toy Story Monopoly Jr., Toy Story Mania for the Wii, Disney Trivia, and Haunted Mansion Life!

I also love pricing out vacations that I probably won't go on. Beach Club, Poly.....I can dream!

Good thing I'm leaving in 2 weeks and 5 days :)
