Leaving in 6 days!!! Can anyone tell me if the WL will provide a sharps container upon request or do I need to take one? Space is at a minimum!

I'm not diabetic, but I've read that they will. Have you been to the disABILITIES board? There are several people there who can fill you in on the specifics.

I just returned from a vacation at WL. I packed a small container with me and then asked WL to dispose of it when I checked out. I didn't think to ask them for one BEFORE I arrived. My suggestion would be to call them and ask. If they don't have one, maybe they can arrange to get one before you arrive.

Have a wonderfully magical trip! You will love the new parades, especially the Share a Dream at MK! That one is NOT to be missed!

I don't know about WL but when we've stayed at POFQ (last time was May 2001) we ask for a sharps bin when we arrived and they always let us have one. Last year when we asked for a sharps bin the CM asked why we needed it (she wasn't rude though) and we told her 2 of us were diabetics, she then asked did we need to keep our insulin in a fridge which we replied preferably. Anyway, when the sharps bin was delivered to our room a fridge came along with it too!!! The CM who delivered it said it 'was on the house and he hoped we have a good trip'.

A lot of people have reported that they asked Housekeeping for a sharps container when they checked in and got it delivered promptly.

They really don't want to take a chance that people might not have a place to dispose of syringes, so it's in their best interest to provide one for you.

The word on getting a refrigerator free for medical reasons is mixed. Some people have reported getting one for free, but more people have reported they were told it would be $10 a day and if they didn't want to pay that, they could store their medication behind the front desk.

I'll call as soon as we settle into our rooms! Fortunately, we won't need the refrigerator because DH is lucky enough to control his diabetes with pills. We need the container for his lancets.

My son is diebetic and one of the things we use as a travel sharps container is a plastic soda or watter bottle we just put the used needles and lancets in the bottle and screw the top back on and when we get home we empty it into our sharps container.

Before I switched to the pump I used to do this too.

Yes they absolutely will! Just mention your request when you check in and housekeeping will deliver one to your room.
