For everyone who asked about Princess cakes

Holly, when I called I asked about the Princes cakes and what they had available. I told them her favorite princess was Ariel, but they didn't have her for some reason. They had an edible image (like you can buy at the grocery store, looks like paper you peel off the backing and lay on the cake, but it's edible) of all of the princesses, but I don't really like those, because I know they keep the cakes in the freezer or fridge, and those run when they get wet from condensation. I asked if there was anything else they could do, and she put me on hold. That's when she told me that they had a white chocolate "plaque" that could have Cinderella painted on top. When she said "plaque", I was thinking a flat disc of chcolate on top of the cake. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw Cinderella actually standing up on our cake! We had a 10" cake for 8 people, and it was still way too much. I would suggest with 4 of you, maybe a 6" if you don't want any left over, and that should also bring down the cost significantly as well.

This thread is fantastic in its timing. We are doing a surprise trip for our DD's 6th birthday at the end of the month and her dinner will be at 1900.

Do you call Disney Dining to order the cake or do you call 1900 directly?

Thanks!

I am a cake decorator as well, for about a year or so. I have just within the past 6 months began selling them. Way to save up for Disney. I am sure I am wayyyyyy underpriced but I love doing it.

WOW we could all just move to FL and Disney could hire us to make the cakes..LOL

I am going to need a cake for DD's b-day at Whispering Canyon...There will be 4 of us possibly 6 ...DO they sell a 4 inch cake?

Thanks so much! I think we will go with a 6 inch cake.. I believe we will get dessert included in our meal anyway since we have the dining plan, so the smaller the cake, the better! LOL What kind of icing did you get?

CarnotaurDad: I called the GF bakery. The # is 1-407-824-2474.

Jennifer: We ate breakfast at WCC in Dec. 2004 (again for Kirstin's birthday, we go every year) and they gave us a free cake at breakfast! Usually the restaraunts have a standard cake with a flower or something on it. We did that at LTT on that same trip in '04. I think it was a 6" cake (possibly 8", not sure) with a rose and "Happy Birthday" written on top. It was $12, more if you wanted it personalized.

Holly:We were on the dining plan as well, but didn't indulge in the dessert bar since we knew we had cake coming, lol. The icing was white chocolate with darker chocolate swirled in. Absolutely delicious! I figured I would "splurge" on the cake since we weren't having to "pay" for dinner, and her Grandpa, 2 aunts and an uncle all flew down from NE and IA to be there, so I wanted something really special. This was the first trip for all of them. One of my SiL loved it so much they're going back with us in Oct.!

Mmmmm...these cakes sound delicious! What number should I call to find out more information? We will be having lunch at the GF cafe one day during our trip in april. Thanks to the person responding. :earsboy:

If you want your cake at the GF Cafe, just call the GF bakery at 1-407-824-2474, and they will deliver it to the restaraunt for you.

What a wonderful cake and darling birthday girl! We're taking our kids this spring and summer. In the summer our youngest DD will be turning 7 and wants to have dinner at CRT. I guess we'll be paying the higher prices for CRT and getting photos too ... but it's a special day. Has anyone had one of their cakes for a girl's birthday? Just curious!

Here's the cake we had for my birthday dinner at CRT this past Nov. It was $25, the cheapest, smallest one they offer. They had two flavors to choose from (choc and vanilla) and she said they could put almost any character on it.

I don't have the phone number on me but if you call Disney Dining, they'll give you the MK cake ordering number or you could look for the other thread on CRT cakes cause I think someone posted the phone number.

Hi - just wanted to mention that if you have a 4 year old - you may want to look at the menu at Akershus very carefully. Aside from the fruit and cheese which was an app for the kids - none of them ate a thing!

allaboard: Thanks! We think she's pretty cute, but we're a little biased! ;) I haven't ever eaten at CRT. DD has, but for breakfast, so I don't know anything about what they offer as far as cakes go.

beattyfamily: What a cool cake! Happy belated birthday! Hope you had a good one!
