Which one would you rather go to? Both look equally good to me, but on the dining plan so money isnt an object!! LOL :)

We have done both, and they are very different. Ohana is more of an "experience" meal with the coconut races, etc. The food was good when I went but that was 3 1/2 years ago and the menu has had a major change. We probably eat at Kona once a trip. We have never had a bad meal there and the steaks are delicious.

I haven't eaten at Kona, but we LOVE LOVE LOVE Ohana. The new menu is fab.

We're doing Kona this time; 'Ohana was good when we went but the menu changes don't appeal to us as much AND you get more value at Kona on the dining plan. Obviously not our driving force in a decision but does contribute to it. There is also much more variety and I hear only rave reviews about dinner there.

I honestly think you'd be happy with either! ;)

We ate at both last August. If your asking based on the quality of the food, Kona has better food by far IMHO. They were also very generous with the DDP, allowing add on chicken or shrimp. Also included vanilla ice cream "ala mode" to the desserts. I'm not sure if it was Kona's decision or that of our server,or that the practice still exists, but this was our experience. Ohana's was good, but we were seated on the side of the fire pit, by the kitchen door. We couldn't see a thing, just heard it. After a while, the noise was just annoying. Even DS 11&8 couldn't wait to get out of there. :flower:

We have done both and are skipping Ohana this year. We are going to Kona again. We find the meat offerings at Ohana to be too dry. Plus...Kona has some awesome DESSERTS! :thumbsup2

We have done both. Ohana twice. That being said, we now go to Kona to try different dishes. If you have not been to Ohana, I say try it at least once, if you have kids it is a must with the games they play, they have a lot of fun.

Kona - unless you're going at the very end of September, in which case 'Ohana, but then Kona again starting the second week in October

Signed,
Someone who wants to be able to get into Kona at scheduled ADR times - and yes, that's plural, once for the filet, once for the teriyaki :teeth:

thats so funny! :rotfl2: We will be there Sept 29-Oct 8...so hmmmmmmm heheheh

What kind of show does Ohana's have? I wasnt thrilled with the menu that is up on allears it seems limited to 3 diff. kinds of meat and a few odds and ends. I do believe Kona's has a nicer menu. Might be leaning toward the Kona instead.

Thanks ya'll! :grouphug:

We love both. This was before the menu change at O'hana's, though. I think if we could only pick one since the change it would be Kona.

Okay, well, actually the 29th is probably okay (I think I'm going to MNSSHP that night) and um, whatever night is Evening EMH at Epcot I have an ADR for a restaurant there, so that night's okay, and of course after I leave... :teeth:

HMMM....I never even considered Kona Cafe for dinner, maybe i'll have to rethink this as I had planned on O'hana! Not sounding like the greatest reviews for O'hana.

We have ADR's for both Ohana's and Kona's this trip.
Any suggestions for what to order at Kona's. Thanks

I had to make the same decision and ended up choosing O'hanas(which involved calling disney dining twice a day for 3 weeks until I finally snagged a cancellation).I agree that the food sounds better at Kona but since O'hanas is kind of a "Disney classic"I decided it would be more of a true disney experience to eat there. Some people describe Kona as having an almost coffee shop atmosphere which did not thrill me at those prices. While at O'hanas we will check out Konas for next time!

We tried Ohana last trip, and we were both disappointed. The meat was dry, our service was slowish, and just in general it felt....eh. BUT....I love the atmosphere of the Polynesian, and I have heard great things about Kona. We looked into Kona on our way out of Ohana, and thought maybe we would have enjoyed our meal more there. So, this trip, no Ohana ADR, but I am making sure we try out Kona. Overall, I generally hear more consistently good reviews with Kona, so I think its a good choice....and lol, we'll be there the last week in September as well...see you guys there!!
