My family will be in Chicago in a couple of weeks, and would like to know if anyone knows of a good pub in the downtown area? (Wacker Road Hyatt)

I don't mean a bar that serves pub food, but a true pub where our DS (12) can get the pub style food he likes, and Dad can get great draft beer/ale.

I've tried looking on the net, but have come up blank. I can't believe that a city that turns the river green for St Patrick's Day doesn't have a couple of decent pubs!

You need to define pub food vs pub that serves food a bit better. Going by what I think you mean - O'Neils on Ontario or Superior is a true pub with awesome food.

Dan, pub food is traditional Irish, sausage and mashies, cottage pie, shepards pie. Really good comfort food and good ale and strong cider. With the strong Irish tradition in Chicago there are lots of good, authentic pubs in the city.

Thank you! Yes, what was listed is exactly what I meant by pub food, as long as there are also chips. Good Irish/Scots music would be a plus, but not mandatory.
