? for Boston area people re: ice skating

Do you know of any rinks that have public skating year round? We currently go to the MDC rinks but they will be closing for the season in March. I will be enrolling my daughter in lessons at Pilgrim Skating Rink in Hingham next month but they do not have public skating when I could go on with her and I'd like her to be able to skate more than once or twice a week because she enjoys it so much.

Does anybody know anything about the Skating Club of Boston or are there any others I can try? I guess I could try some colleges around us but I don't know if they keep their rinks open all year. She is only 2 but she loves skating and started skating on her own without me or without pushing crates today so I'd like to keep her involved with skating year round if possible. I'd appreciate any information you may have.

When I was taking classes at Umass Boston, they had public skates, try them out.

Are you on the South Shore (you must be actually if you are going to Pilgrim) there is a rink on Rt 18 in Bridgewater (the name escapes me) that you also might have luck with.

UMass Boston is about 5-10 minutes away from my house. I actually called Umass a little while ago but there was no answer. I'm trying to get information on their recreation membership but it sounds like they only have skating to March unless the schedule hasn't been updated. I'm going to give them a call tomorrow. I'm also going to call BC. I was hoping they have skating open to alumni and their families. Thanks for the suggestion and I'll do a search for rinks in Bridgewater. Have a good night.

I think the Iorio rinks on the Walpole/Foxboro line are open year round. The are right on Rt. 1.

There's a rink in Watertown (by Russo's) thats open year round.
