Were you all told the Resort Monorail was not running, or something like that? My friends & I were going back to the Contemporary & a Cast Member said something like the Resort Monorail was not running & suggested that if we were going to the Contemporary we should walk it. We had no problem walking, but as we were getting close to the Contemporary, we saw the Resort Monorail going inside. So I was just wondering for anyone who was leaving the Magic Kingdom around 9:50 PM or before then, what did you hear about the Resort Monorail not running because I am curious to find out the answer.

Happens all the time.
There can be a minor problem, they make an announcement of an alternate plan.
However, they shortly solve the problem and everything goes back to normal by the time you have gone on to other plans.

The CMs making the "announcement" are not the ones who are working on the "problem" so its easy for a bit of inaccuracy to mix in.

The monorail "problems" are usually not serious in the least, but if there is any kind of warning light (or similar situation) they will stop until they are sure all is well. With all of the resort trains on the same track, if ONE has any kind of problem, they ALL must "hold" until it is resolved.

We have been on a monorail when one had problems and we had to wait around 15 minutes to get moving again. The CM's probably didn't want people to wait and had them look for other means of transportation.

I agree with the other poster in they can never figure out how long it is going to take and will usually guess wrong.

Are you certain it was the resort monorail you saw & not the express?

Things do happen & they will be put in a holding pattern.

Yes we were 100% certain it was the Resort Monorail. Why would the Cast Member say if you need to go to the Contemporary it's best to walk it? Plus we heard him say this with our own ears.

Once we were there and a monorail had to be towed. So I'm guessing if one stops, they don't know how long it will take to get it going again. Maybe the driver was able to restart the train...I can tell you when they had to tow the train it took a while...so maybe the CM you though the train would have to be towed. Once we were stuck waiting in a monorail for over half an hour inthe same spot on the track. We never found out why.

Every response in this post has tried to explain why a CM would tell you to WALK to CR.

A) If the monorail is delayed by more than 15 minutes, its faster to walk.

B) If you saw the monorail go over your heads as you walked, they got it fixed sooner than 15 minutes.

Again, this is not very unusual.

At the TTC, I'm sure the CM's were telling those headed for the Poly to walk THERE, too.
