My son broke his arm and we are going to WDW in July. WDW said they will not restrict him on any ride but I was just wondering (and preparing), is there any ride that he should stay away from. Any help you be appreciated.

Sorry to hear about your son. I myself was at WDW with a cast just 4 days after breaking my arm. I wasn't in top form because I still had alot of pain, but nothing stops me from going to WDW!!!
The only ride I had trouble on was Tower of Terror. Mostly because I couldn't get that "death grip" on the seat in front of me!!! I don't do Roller coasters, but do remember doing Thunder Mountain and Splash mountain with no problems. I was never stopped or questioned by any cast members about the cast.
Hopefully, your son will feel better....July is still a few weeks away.
Just a thought, but maybe the characters will sign his cast?!?
Don't know if they're allowed to do that, but would put a fun twist on things. Have fun!!

Thanks for the reply. We were going to try Tower of Terror for the first time but I guess we'll skip that one. We were going to ask Mickey to sign the cast. Hopefully he will.

My son has gone with a cast on his arm and the only things I had him stay away from were the Kali River Rapids & Slpash Mt. I didn't want to have to deal with him getting it wet. There area casts that can get wet...if he has one of them, then I wouldn' t worry about anything

By July he should be on the mend and pain shouldn't be too much of an issue. So you may be able to do ToT afterall. You may want to talk to your doctor about the heat though. DH had a cast on his leg 3 summers ago--- (we weren't at Disney), but it was in the middle of July. Well the week after they put it on it was over 90 for several days in a row. He developed a "heat rash" in the area of the cast and under the cast. They actually ended up removing it and letting him just use a brace. So that may be something you may want to prepare for.

If you do not already have it, you might want to ask his doctor for a Gore-tex cast. (I think that is what it is called) It is a cast he can go swimming in. It is more expensive than a regular cast but it does allow him to have more fun with the pools. The only thing my DH says (he is an orthopedic surgeon) is if the cast goes above the elbow have them cut a small hole at the elbow area to let any water drain out. We just returned from WDW and there were plenty of kids with cast on their arms and it looked like they were getting lots of autographs on them.

Last year, my Mom had a cast from just below the shoulder all the way to the fingers. We had all the characters sign it, and when they cut it off, they were careful to preserve as much as possible. It looks really neat!
