For anyone who has ever used an Interliner discount

I'm looking for some help on this one:

My family and I will be traveling to WDW in February. My sister and her DB will be joining us. They are both airline employees. We booked a 2bd at the VWL (paid the one night deposit) in the hopes that we could use the airline employee discount on it.

Well the dang things haven't come out yet!!! Is this normal? Is it possible that there could be NO interliner discounts in the works?

We also booked a 1 bd at OKW with a AAA rate (haven't paid the deposit yet) for just my family of four, in case this discount falls through. My two week window for paying the deposit is rapidly approaching. I'd really not like to pay ANOTHER deposit while I'm waiting to see if the interliner discounts ever come out. But I also don't want to lose my AAA rate at OKW.

Can anyone shed any light on this situation for me? Or offer any suggestions? Kind words of wisdom? We're flexible on our dates of travel and our resort - but we would like a DVC resort. Am I cuckoo to think we can swing this?

The usual requirement is that the airline employee is limited to one room at the airline rate, and must be named on the reservation. They need to be present at check in and provide proof of employment.

The other thing is discounts are not across the board, and the room you want might not be available with the discount.

We will meet all the requirements for using this discount - my sister and her DB will be traveling with us if we can get a big enough place for the six of us. If we can't use the discount then my family of four will just use our AAA discount and let her and the DB get their own room with their discount.

So it is sort of a crapshoot, then? When they do finally release the discounts it will be hit or miss as to what is available at which resorts at which times? Like I said, we're flexible with dates and locations, I'm just anxious to know if we can make it work at all.

Do you know in past years when they have released these discounts? For the past two weeks they've been telling me "any day now" but nobody seems to know anything. I know that patience is a virtue that I sorely lack. I'm just in a holding pattern - can't make any ADR's until I know when we're going. I guess that's part of the deal, huh - we'll give you a great discount but we're going to make you wait for it?

Yep, like any discount at Disney its a crapshoot. Some resorts might not be available at the rate you want. With the DVC properties the DVC members get first shot at booking. The "leftovers" get sent out to the general booking system. You'll probably be able to find something at that rate, but it might be OKW or SSR, and not the very popular VWL or BC/BW villas.

Gotcha. Thanks for your thoughts on this one. I would be more than happy to get the discount at OKW or SSR! I'll keep my fingers crossed for that, I guess, and just HOPE they release those discounts soon. I'm chomping at the bit to find out!
