I will be at WDW with my family during Gay Week. I want to ask a question to the people who will be attending during that week. According to a schedule I saw on the internet, certain days are designated for certain parks. I don't remember specifically what they are at this moment. My question is Do you go to that park on that day or do you go to whatever park you choose?

Some people may think that I am asking this question to avoid gay people. I am definitely not. When I go to WDW, I attempt to avoid any large groups: cheerleaders, Brazilians, spring breakers, etc. I will be trying to navigate 8 people around the parks from senior citizens to toddlers so I want there to be as few people around as possible.

If you are trying to avoid crowds, just do the opposite of what the schedule says.

Saturday morning at the MK is the most crowded. Ironically, after 3:00 on that Saturday, the park is pretty empty. Now this was in the past, when most of the people left to get ready to go to PI, now that PI is closed, this may change.....:confused3

Just remember that you'll see red shirts at every park!

Have a great time!

As Mike said, your biggest crowd problem will be MK on Saturday. Other than that, I wouldn't be concerned, even the scheduled parks are pretty seasonally normal. In fact many of the other parks are more crowded than the scheduled park because of tons of other people thinking they will avoid the crowds.

I am also taking my family that week...now I have no issue with gay couples (close friends are gay couple) BUT I am worried my kids will be freaked out if there are a lot of protesters or signs. Is this a problem during this time? What should I tell them before we go?They know are friends are a gay couple (women) and they know we love them to death but they have always been no touchy touchy when other peoples kids are around because they do not want to offend anyone....the kids KNOW they are a couple but do not see the kissing, hugging ect...I just told them that all couples in love kiss and hug and its ok....does wdw allow protesters?

Protesters are not allowed on Disney property. I did see a small band of protesters a few years ago just outside the big "Welcome to WDW" entry way near the Crossroads shopping center.

great then no worry!! my friends(gay couple) did tell me to make sure my dh wears his red mickey shirt! lol I didnt know why but I just saw something about red shirts....I know now :rotfl:

one wonderful thing about WDW is just as I can't protest their christian groups, they can't protest us and I'm perfectly fine with it being that way. We all know there are extremists on both sides, but I would like to think people won't be openly making out in the parks in public view. A peck or a hug I'm sure will happen as I have done that myself even when it wasn't gay days.

When exactly is Gay/Lesbian week? My SIL is going to the world for the first time in April. I'm simply wondering if the parks are busier during that time frame?

We went during GD week last year and will be going again this year. We had no problems with crowds until Friday but that was because Florida schools let out. Go and don't worry about it...you should have no problems.
