For anyone going the first week of June, are you worried about this like i am???.....

Don't worry too much. When we were going in late April, I kept checking the weather and it said the same thing, showers or thunderstorms just about every day. First of all, it seemed to change every day the I looked at the weather, and secondly, when we were there, any rain we had didn't seem to last much more than an hour. One night we were going to Epcot, and it was pouring, so once we got into the parking lot, we sat in our car and talked until it stopped, about 40 minutes later, and off we went into the park, like it had never rained. I think the scattered thunderstorms are quite common in Florida this time of year, so don't let it ruin your plans. And usually they say a "chance" of a thunderstorm, so that doesn't mean it is definite!! Enjoy your trip. I'm jealous.... have to wait to September to go back

Sorry to disappoint you guys, but look to the left and see my bio. It has rained EVERY afternoon so far this week. and I mean hard. Just revert back to the days when you were kids. We all wanted to play in the rain. :D

On our first trip to WDW in 1995 it was raining (early June ;) ) when we got there. My DH plops on the bed and says "oh well, I guess it's raining, can't go out". He's the vacation-is-for-resting-and-relaxing type, so he was looking for an out :) , but I quickly told him the law of the land in Disney.........and off we went to MK :)

See you all there!!!!!

Anna

well I am not too worried about rain - I have been in florida during torrential downpours - when you could not even see past your window wiper blades - and frankly it makes everything more fresh after a rain - also - I am already exhausted from all the planning and buying stuff that if we get to disney world and I get to sleep for two days because its raining that will be fine by me. Also, it is my hope that since we will be at the contemporary that coming and going will not be a huge hassle.... I am more worried about having just spent enough money that I will have to put off retirement...hahahahahah :p

The forecast on the weather.com site says two things..
Isolated T-Storms and Scattered T-Storms for pretty much all week maybe some of you SWAG's of even you WAG's could tell me what the difference is between these two!
bbchurch It is based on a fraction of sky coverage. Isolated means at any one time less than 1/8 of the forecast area will have thunderstorm coverage.
Scattered means 1/8 to 1/2 of the forecast area may be covered by Thunderstorms.

Don't fret over the weather forecast. It always seems to change day by day. I live at the beaches and almost everyday in the summer they call for a chance of thunderstorms. Last year we hardly had any rain even though the thunderstorms were always in the forecast. Have a wonderful time, don't worry about the weather, and let us know about your trip when you return. Soooooooooooooo excited for you.:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

thanks everyone again for you imput, it helped, sarahj, i am from the new haven area of CT, u??

You can't really depend on the forecast, but you can usually depend on June weather in Florida. It does rain alot. You would be better off preparing yourself for rain and hoping for better weather. All in all, WDW is very easy to negotiate in the rain, lots of indoor attractions. Bring your ponchos and umbrellas and enjoy!:D

We're leaving on Saturday, and I am a little concerned about the weather forecast. However, since there's nothing we can do about it, we're packing raincoats and ignoring the possibility. As many other people have said, it rains in Florida just about every June afternoon but not for long.

There's an old scout saying: There's no such thing as bad weather, just poor clothing choices.

We're leaving tomorrow evening. Just like the rest of you, bought rain ponchos and plan to have FUN FUN FUN!!! Hope to see you there. Lime green ribbons, right?

ok so I called concierge today where we are staying - their comment was "hey it is june expect it to rain everyday for a little bit.... usually between 3 and 6 and then it clears and get hot and humid again... leaving the parks less crowded..." wooohooo bring on the rain... I need a break in the middle of the day anyway

We arrived Wednesday morning and the weather is perfect...It hasn't rained on me yet, but have seen isolated Tstorms in the distance. Not too hot, nice breeze blowing, and the local forecast as of this morning is chance of Tstorms Sunday afternoon but otherwise they're calling for more of the same. Got my DollarTree ponchos with me so I'm prepared for whatever.

Just stock up on ponchos and enjoy your trip. It still beats work.....
