For any past Jan./Feb disney goers

I just read something that in Jan. the parks in disney are closed on certain days...is this true??? Example.... Mon-Jan 2nd Magic Kingdom "open" , Tuesday -Jan3rd Magic Kingdom "closed".

Can anyone give me some insite on this and approx. hours during the first two weeks of Jan.

The parks are open 365 days a year. You must have misunderstood. However, there are early entry days, and extended hours for guests staying in one of the Disney resorts. It's one of the perks for staying onsite. The hours in January are reduced right after New Years. The parks generally open at 9:00 a.m. MK may close at 6:00 or 7:00 except for the weekends, if something special is planned like the Spectromagic Parade, or Wishes (fireworks) the parks are open later. And of course if you are staying on site, then you can enjopy the extended hours. Epcot is open every day till 9:00, plus extended hours. AK is usually open till 5:00 plus extended hours, and MGM closes about 7:00 plus extended hours. We love going in January. The crowds are greatly reduced. The downside of this is that some attractions will be closed for refurbishment. The times change according to how busy they expect to be, but January is their slow time (value season). It gradually picks up mid February.

I'm not too tech friendly, so I can't direct you to another site. However, I'm very very certain that the only times the parks are closed are for hurricanes, terrorist attacks etc. Try typing your days in using 2005 instead of 2006 and you will see what I mean.

I am pretty sure the parks never close excpet for emergencies. Hours vary but all parks should be open everyday.

I have been several time in Jan. (including this past Jan. 2005, and Jan./Feb. 2004) and the parks are all open every day. Just what was said earlier about the early opening and closing on the different days if you are a park guest. The other thing is the refurbishment of different rides and the closure of the one water park.
