if you get a chance, check out the National Building Museum http://www.nbm.org/Info/Tours/Walk_In_Tours.html while in DC... it is off the beat and path, but walking distance from downtown. If you have any interest in architecture it is breathtaking to see... it is pretty much never crowded, it is something you will talk about for a long time, it is a building very rich in history.
