would you upgrade to a concierge room? We have never stayed in one, so I am wondering how much we would use it?
When we go to DL we always go to target and buy water, cereal and snacks, and pop for in the room.We would spend about $150-$200 at least I am not a morning person, so I would rather have the kids eat and I can have my coffee before we hit the parks. I think that this would be really convenient for the mornings as well as a late night snack. But I wanted to see how much other people have actually used it. We are a family of four and the $75 per day would be for all of us.

I think it would very a great value! Breakfast, light dinner, wine and beer, sodas and water....coffee all day, we love concierge.

OPPS...It is for the PPH with a theme park view :headache:

ETA: We also nap everyday, so we would not have to make a special trip back to the hotel for the afternoon snacks. I am not sure if we would use anything past 5 pm as they close at 8 and we normally head back into the park at about 4. I'm not sure if that will change anyones mind.

How many nights are you talking about? You say that you typically spend $150-200 on stuff you bring in....so that alone would be equivalent to 2 nights at least. Perhaps not having to deal with trying to guess what everyone wants and how much to get, plus lugging it all up to the room and managing it in the room is worth some as well.

As for the closing at 8pm and you leave for the parks at 4pm....I'd simply plan to get a snack and leave it in your room before you leave so it's ready when you do get home. A lot easier than lugging groceries, lol.

If you have the financial ability, I'd say go for it, just for the experience if nothing else. Then you'll know for the future if it works for your family. Sounds wonderful to me...alas we don't stay onsite so the best we get is some places have a continental or maybe a warm breakfast, lol.

Probably not a bad idea. About $20 per person perday. If it replaces breakfast for you, and a snack in the park, you are almost saving $20.

Just curiously, what kind of food do you get on the concierge floors? And what are the hours normally?

From what I have experienced personally a few times @ GCH concierge:

They opened from about 6:30 am to 10 pm.

Mornings they had: juices, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, milk. Cereal, yogurts, fresh fruits, muffins/ pastries.

At about 10 am they had the same beverages in addition to a mini fridge filled with small bottled coke products. They did have goldfish crackers and maybe a few other cracker type snacks.

At around noon they had all of the above beverages, mini tea sandwiches, uncrustables, fresh fruits.

Later in the afternoon/ early evening they had all the above beverages available plus a few hot appatizer type items. Plus beer and wine for adults (I think the limit was 2 per adult).

Evening they had all of the above beverages except alcohol, plus chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate chip cookies and a few other "dessert" type choices. One evening we watched the fireworks from the balcony.

They also had board games, a television and a computer with internet access available all day. Free movie DVD rentals are also included. We were a family of 5, four adults and one child, concierge is wonderful if you can afford it. It was great for after naps or mid day break to stop by before heading back to the parks. I enjoyed it for the breakfast, we are not a big breakfast eaters so we all made pretty good use of the choices.

I have not experienced the PP concierge, though.

Also, if you search this forum for PPH Concierge, you may get more specific/ recent info on the PPH concierge...

The Dobies would not, just because we are not really breakfast eaters, there are only 2 or 3 of us, and we would be in the parks when the snacks are out.

If there were many, many Dobies, however, we might change our minds!

Here's a search i did since this was discussed ALOT a couple of years back (when they had some good deals on Concierge).

Lots of good comments in some of these threads.

I would put a value of about 15 bucks per day for each kid & 20 bucks per day for each adult (maybe $25 if you enjoy beer or wine). So for $75 per day, I'd do the Concierge. Then you can report back to us. :thumbsup2

Your link isn't working, but I'm guessing it is about the glorious months when PP concierge was $160 with the AP discount. Ah, those were the days!

I totally agree with Hound on the value per person. We like the concierge experience, especially for breakfast. We don't have to plan on where to eat first thing in the morning and consider it a huge time saver. We normally eat a big lunch in the parks and snack in the lounge for dinner. They do have a hot appetizer at dinner time in addition to various cheeses, veggies and dip, and assorted desserts. We also drink wine, so we figure that into the cost. Be sure to stick around when the bring out the chocolate covered strawberries in the evening. Yum!

Thank you for all of your responses!
DH and I have talked about it and I think we are going to do it! He is a little bit concerned that the lounge will be really busy, but I said let's at least try it once.

Does the PP have wine and beer in the concierge lounge?? I'm just wondering because they close earlier than the other two hotels and I thought beer and wine was after 8 pm?!?!?

We have had concierge at least once at all three hotels. By far, the Grand has the best. However, none of them are all that busy during the day. The morning can be a bit crowded, but it seems that guests don't stay all that long. We love sitting at the DL concierge and watching the fireworks the best. I'm sure that you will love PPH concierge. Enjoy it.

Out of curiosity, how much per night would a concierge room at PP be during the middle of January? I'm unable to check the dates just yet on the Disney website but am considering (which probably won't eventuate) a trip that time in 2012.

Pity I wouldn't be 21 at the time to make use of the beer and wine...

ETA: Ok looks like the Disney hotels have a policy that you must be 21 or over to check in. There goes those dreams, for a few more years anyway.
