Okay,

Think it is about time for some "me" time for a various number of reasons, as such I am planning a Solo trip to WDW.

So that being said here are the inputs that I am playing with

1. $5000.00 budget
2. Minimum 7 Days and Maximum 14 Days.
3. All solo
4. Can start no earlier than October 10th and no later than December 6th. (Don't want to wait for ever and let my logical side talk me out of the adventure).
5. Have to factor in a plane ticket from Overseas (typically $900) if bought in time, or if after December 1 the ticket can be free. (Company Paid)

So given these inputs I have been playing with a number of things.

Do I maximize my time and stay at a Value Resort? For me the accommodations are important and I like staying at the higher end resorts (Typically Boardwalk). But I want to shake it up a bit this time, and could do two or three resorts.

Do I line up my trip with the others that are going in October?

How about adding a 3 Day DCL trip to the deal? (Is this any fun Solo??)

Also, food is a must and will eat at the higher end restaurants.

So there you go, I have a couple of things in mind, but I am still playing around. Let me know what YOU would do.

OK, I def want a stab at this. But first, a few questions:

1. Would you rather be in WDW for Halloween/F&W or Christmas? That free airfare post-Dec 1 is very appealing
2. Are you interested in any of the parties or tours?
3. What are your fav parks? Any interest in water parks/DTD?
4. How do you like to eat? 3 full meals a day, large breakfast/dinner then light lunch, etc? You mentioned liking sigs, but what else?

This will be fun!

I go at least 3 or 4 times a year but still no expert. But will say that when I went last year early Nov was awesome. You get F&W plus Christmas. I am planning on going again No v 4-13th. I'm like you I like BW and am a snob about it. I can stay at other resorts if I have to. I do have DVC so that's a plus.

Your budget for a week seems ok. I actually never try to think what I spend at WDW. Always have a good time so priceless. Enjoy and good luck deciding.

The questions I have for you: are you going to be renting a car? that can make the difference in a cheaper hotel than on site, therefor adding more time to Disneyland because you can put that money into the park.

The other questions I had, i think will be answered when you answer the other 2 posts.

Well, if you can do 9 or 10 days, you can go from the end of October to the beginning of November. This way you can get the Halloween decorations and the Christmas decorations at the same time. I think the first Very Merry Christmas Party is around the 8th or the 9th. Then again that free airfare would be pretty tempting!

Just wanted to say I was in Switzerland last year--absolutely lovely country! :goodvibes A big part of me is jealous :rolleyes1

I hope it is fine. Here are my thoughts

1. I have been there for both Christmas and Halloween, Halloween more so than Christmas. So that leans me more towards Christmas Time Frame, actually probably can get the free airfare after 1 November. Crowd size is very critical to me, since I have the freedom to go whenever, I certainly want to be there when the crowd size is minimum but the parks are still open late.

2. Absolutely on the Tours. I have done the KtK tour and Segway, would like to do both again, along with other tours.

3. MK is my favorite park, but as others like them all. Water Parks, not sure solo, but can consider it. Also the time of the year and temperature play into this decision. What about DCL??

4. I am a big fan of SIG meals only. I will eat lite during the day and then go big at night. Artist Point, Yachtsman, etc.

Budget wise, I am trying to keep in a range, as i can easily see me going overboard. Maybe in the future. Also, considering DVC. Would like to stay at other resorts and mix it up a bit. I think it would be fun

No car rental, full time on property and using WDW Trans or Taxi. Just don't see the need for a rental car.

Thanks, it is really beautiful here and I do like it, but I do miss America. Things are very expensive here!!! Good Idea on the 9 - 10 day range. I like that time range because not too long and can sequence it to get two weekends in there (EMH).

Thanks for all the input.

1. Crowrds get worse from Thanksgiving week and then again before Christmas to the 1st of the year.
2. Am sure you can find people to go with you.
3. Do all the parks and if the weather is good do the waterparks
Would love to do DCL one day but with lots of friends. some of us have talked about doing one maybe next year.
4. Do the dining plan

No car is ever needed IMO oh and have a blast :cool1:

Yeah, I thought coming from NYC that I was pretty used to crazy prices but Switzerland was :scared1: but still had a nice time and would love to get back there at some point.

Love Christmastime at Disney, and am debating going from 1 Nov. through 9 Nov. to get in the Halloween Party and the Christmas party :goodvibes

Here is what I came up with, sans dining. I am a member of Touring Plans, so I took crowd levels into account when picking the specific days. Total, after taxes, comes to about $3150. That leaves you quite a bit for dining.

Fri, Dec 2-Mon, Dec 12

10 day base ticket (no park hopper): $291

PO-FQ Dec 2-Dec 8 (standard view, rack rate): $1130
YC Dec 8-Dec 12 (standard view, rack rate): $1643

Fri, Dec 2: Epcot (EMH until 12:30am)
Sat, Dec 3: DHS (EMH 8am)
Sun Dec 4: AK
Mon Dec 5: MK (EMH until 11pm)
Tues Dec 6: Epcot (EMH 8am)
Wed Dec 7: DHS
Thurs Dec 8: MK (EMH 8am)
Fri, Dec 9: Epcot (EMH until 12:30am)
Sat, Dec 10: MK
Sun, Dec 11: MK (MVMCP)

I have you there from November 11th to November 19th. You will be able to catch a little of the F&W festival and possibly see some Christmas decorations and the Osbourne lights.

Friday Nov 11 - room only at Pop $135.00

Saturday Nov 12 - 1 night platinum plan at WL with 8 day park hoppers $882.94

Sunday Nov 13 to Friday Nov 19 WL courtyard view room only $2306

With $900 for your flight it still leaves a little over $700 for food and tips.

So here is what I would plan
Friday Nov 11, check in Pop and since no park tickets, head to DTD.

Saturday Nov 12 change resorts and check in for platinum plan. Since you mentionned liking tours, with the one night plan you get unlimited tours and recreation until midnight check out day. This year is the last year you can only do 1 night, next year there is a 3 night minimum.

So with that said, I would do tours in the morning Aqua Seas, Dolphins in Depth, Segway. Then maybe some recreation Parasailing, tubing, sea racers. If you like fishing, there are the fishing excursions. Then you would also get 3 meal credits, not like the DXDP, signatures here only count as 1 credit and Victoria and Alberts and Fultons can be booked. So I would do night 1 at Victoria and Alberts followed by a wishes fireworks cruise (also included). Then the second night I would do Fulton's at DTD followed by cirque du soleil (also included). You could also fit in a 50 minute swedish massage in there somewhere that is also included in your package.

Then Sunday Nov 13 would be the second day of the plan and it only expires at midnight. So you would check out the platinum plan and re-check back in the WL until the end on the 19th. You would already have your park tickets from the platinum stay. So you then have park days from Monday Nov 14th to Saturday Nov 19th. With approximately $100 for food per day, that would give you enough to eat light during the day and finish with a signature every night.

If you would downgrade to a moderate or if there are room discounts, you could add days to your stay and still remain on budget.

Anyways, this is just what I would do.
