Should I get a preferred room, or is another location better? Thanks for your input.

All the rooms are convenient to the main building, pools etc.

The preferred rooms are farthest away from the parking.

We were in the 50's section, bldg. B, top floor. Our room had a lake view & you could see Illuminations fireworks from the breezeway every night. It was a great, quiet location.

I have stayed in both the 60's preferred and the 70's. Both were just as close to the main building, and parking was closer in the 70's.

During both our stays at Pop, we were in the 50's section and found it to be very convenient. I don't believe we would pay the extra money for a preferred view at Pop.

We also stayed at the POP, 50's section, bldg. B, top floor. Our room had a lake view & you could see Illuminations & other fireworks . It was quiet (Feb) - no prblem with noise and the walk was not bad - it was cute to walk past a giant Lady (& Tramp?) on the way to the building - also one of the pools is right there. Still close to the main buidling, check-in, shops and food court.
Definitely request a location - I called 3 days before and the front desk supervisor was terrific and recommended our location. Room 2456.

You'll have a great time!!

Be prepared for the plastic cups!!

I agree. I had originally reserved a preferred view, mostly to avoid a parking lot view. After a little research here, I requested one of the lake views when I checked in. We were pleased with it. I think it was the 50's building. At first it seems a little odd since the rest of the hotel on the other side of the lake is in a state of quiet. But at nite you can't even see those buildings since they aren't lit. It was nice being by the lake. There is a concrete walkway along side the lake and it's easy to find ducks and such. There are also turtles in the lake and you can buy food for them there.

NBFUN,

It all depends on what you are looking for. If you want to be in the middle of the action, request a preferred room with a pool view. However a preferred room does not guarantee a pool view. I really loved the section I was in. It was the third floor in the first building of the sixties section overlooking the hippie dippie pool. However, if I was not looking at the pool, I would rather stay in the 50s section over looking their pool and that is not a preferred building, but it is also close to the food court. The way the resort is set up, you really don't have to walk far to get to classic hall. Depending on what building you are staying, you can take shortcuts through the parking lot.

Hope this helps.
