? for all you Golf Cart owners

All the fantastic pictures from the Fort Halloween and Christmas celebrations have me thinking. Folks do an absolutely incredible job of decorating their golf carts. It's so impressive how they customize it to suit their tastes.

While I will be using using Kenny for the near future, I can see a time down the road where I will want to customize a golf cart. While Kenny is wonderful, and has perhaps the best customer service ethic on the planet, I can't see him being happy if I apply a custom paint job to one of his carts.

Long story short (I know, it's already too late for that), when I buy my F250 after the first of the year, are there GC models that will fit in the standard 6' bed? I'll be pulling a TT, and unfortunately it's not a toy hauler. Granted, I will not be able to fit in some of the "cadillac" models I see posted in these forums, but am hoping for a 4 person hauler. Maybe it just won't work, and I'm fine with that. The long bed truck just doesn't fit my eye asthetically(sp?) or for parking.

I know this isn't what you asked, but I highly encourage you to reconsider the longbed option. The truck is SO much more useful with a big bed, and if you ever move up to a 5th wheel that long bed will REALLY come in handy. To answer your question, I would think that you are going to have a hard time finding a cart that will fit without needing to have the tailgate open - which may interfere with turning while towing???

I have a 2008 Toyota Tundra with a 6.5 ft bed and are unable to close the tailgate. Unfortunatley, with the tailgate down I do not have enough clearance to hitch the trailer. I have seen many goofy contraptions at the fort to get a golf cart in the bed of a short bed pick up. Also it is unsafe and not recommended to buy a hitch extension while using a weight distribution hitch. Low and Behold, we got a toyhauler to solve the problem

I tow my Colorado (5' bed) with a GC in the bed. I use a 3/4" piece of plywood which is stiffened with 2x4s to distribute the weight over the whole bed.

I have a crew cab short bed Chevyy 2500HD, our cart will fit in the back only with the tailgate down. The tires are still on the bed of the truck but the back of the cart is in the way of the tailgate. With my setup I can leave it down and not worry about the trailer hitting, I do remove the tongue jack just in case though.

We just bought an F250 yesterday and we're hoping to get a golf cart too. We have a regular bed too. Is it possible to take the tailgate right off instead of just leaving it down? That way it wouldn't be in the way of the hitch. I know it's not the safest thing in the world but could it be done?

Tailgates come off very easy. Gone in 60 seconds.

I have always bought long beds for my self and would not have it any other way. I bought one 3/4 ton short bed dodge for my wife to drive and never liked it. It was to big to be small and to small to do anything.

I went with the long bed crewcab,just to be able to put gc in bed of truck ,and close the tailgate. Biggest "problem" is parking it. I just park a little farther from the store,,,wife says I could use all the exercise I can get. ,and that justifies more b e e r.....

I have a 08 2500 chevy short bed i have to take the tailgate off but my cart fits then i have a tractor trailer tie down so its more then heavy duty that holds it in and have no problem with clearance but its a 2 seater but guess if you have the flip up seat with the footrest that flips also shouldn't be a problem i would measure the bed of the truck and measure a cart and see think front bumper to rear plus if you raise it or put on bigger tires add this in also will send pic if you want mine has been from NJ to Disney twice and no problem

i drive our long bed/crew cab/dually every day. i park it without a problem. we bought it so we could haul anything we would want or need to. i know a few folks that bought shorties and complain. but, if you are really uncomfortable with the long bed...

i love my truck, just ask my hubby....

You need to measure the bed also not all short bed are the same size my 08 2500 is 6 ft 3 inches and without the tailgate i can do a 2 seater with the tt and is no problem you may find Dodge or Ford or others to be bigger or smaller
