Alright, so I am going to paint and still desiding on the wall decals. The theme here is WOLF! Where do you find room decor on a limited budget? I have been searching all morning and there is no way I can afford to do what my daughter wants, on my budget.

I think that I am going to MAKE curtains. I am going to the fabric store, I am SURE that there is wolf fabric. Might make her comforters too. But then I am looking for...

Switchplate, sheets and maybe a clock. Just wondering where everyone else buys such things? I don't redecorate EVER, this is definitely a first for me.

Here's a couple (Domestications has a sale on the curtains) Domestications

Whales & Friends Many other animals besides whales.

As far as switchplates go, I know someone who printed photos/pictures on large size label paper and used them to "wallpaper" a normal cheapie plastic switchplate. Kinda cute, if you're crafty.

Well, I've never had to do a wolf theme, but I've done plenty of other stuff on little budget--it depends on how much time you're willing to put in, and how ambitious you are.

Right now, I believe Jo-Anne Fabrics has their fleece on sale--I can't swear to it, but it's likely they have some type of wolf fleece that would look good as a bed cover.

If painting wolves on the walls is beyond you (and believe me, I wouldn't dare to try, personally, but some people are talented!), another possibility might be decoupage. Basically, you cut pictures out of paper (heavy is better, like Current wrapping paper), and coat it with glue and then put it on whatever. you have to do many coats of the glue, but that's easy to do, jsut takes time. Also, some craft stores have decals which could be put on paint. I did a fish themed bookcase for my son one year. Switchplates would be simple to do in decoupage, as would a lampshade.

Consider, if you can't find an actual wolf theme, you could do something related--say, a night sky or mountains or something, where it would "go with" what you can find. I find good ideas looking through the JC Penney catalog, but you could try other bedding places.

Good luck--I'll be doing this soon, as DS7 has outgrown the construction theme, and we'll soon be moving DD1 in with DD9, so I dont' even know where to start (Hello Kitty meets Tie-Dye?)

I know around here it is easy to find wolf things at our local fleamarkets. The whole indian and wolf thing can be done cheap when you bargain shop!!

Switchplate--When I'm trying to match mine, I just cover it in the fabric or wallpaper used in the room! Just cut the fabric a tiny bit bigger than the switchplate...wrap around and tape on the back around all 4 sides. Then, in the holes where the switch comes through, cut an X corner to corner. Fold each resulting triangle back and tape them, too. You now have a custom switchplate! I've done this with fabric, wallpaper, shelfliner, etc. You can paint it, too :) If you want it to be permanent, use a multipurpose glue to adhere the fabric or paper and put a layer of shellac or polyurethane over it.... We move all the time, though, so I make mine easily removeable....hence the tape :)

Sheets--I'd just go with a solid that blend with the comforter, really :) Then, when she wants to redecorate AGAIN in a few years, there's at least a chance that they will still match! Especially if you go with WHITE sheets! :teeth:

Clock--I'd get an inexpensive, plain faced clock at WalMart or Target and then put appiques or rub-ons on it....appliques if you find some for the walls, or maybe you might find some rub-ons at the craft store. I've never really looked for wolf stuff, but I know it's out there!
