We would probably love VB if we could ever make it down there! We haven't been able to make a visit yet; the logistics have always been against us. Someday we will check it out! We also want to visit HH someday; we were very close to the area a few years back, but were attending a family wedding and a visit was just not in the cards.

I like to go when it's not too hot and go bike riding with DH along the Jungle Trail. I don't know much about "old Florida" but I think I would have liked it. I know I love the area of Florida around Rollins College where there's a train stop in the middle of the town, well, Vero Beach's area is lots of condos, and so it's different than that, but it's not all chain restaurants and malls. There are beautiful sunrises. There were plenty of things for our DGC to do last year. Sadly, we can't book another all family vacation until next year, that's why we need more points!
DH who is not a beach person, goes to VB and relaxes and loves it very much. If we add on points, it will be mostly his doing.

gathering shells on the beach with the kids

But The best part is knowing I'm staying at a Disney resort right on the beach for 11-14- points per night!! PRICELESS

OP - the place just takes my breath away. It's so relaxing - so peaceful - so perfect for people who like doing "nothing". Aaaaaaaah.

Turtles!!!!

My wife and I are celebrating our 5 anniversary this Friday. We decided to go to Vero for our gift to each other (in April when it was still cold here). It was our first trip home to Vero. WOW. My wife and I love 2 things the most in life (after family and friends) it's the beach and Disney. Now we have found them all in one location. Everything everyone has mention and the Disney Magic.

1) The waterslide

2) They had a DJ by the pool on a Saturday one time. All ages were having a great time.
