Alright I have seen a number of you have taken Flight 667 (610am) delta flight out of LGA to MCO. What time should we really get to the airport we were planning for about 5 mins to 4. They say skycaps, ticket counter and security open at 4am. Will we find the line ridiculously long at this time or should be get there earlier?
One last ?
The skycaps used to be able to give out boarding passes. Since 9/11 I'm not sure they are still doing this. Do they still do this or do they simply take your bags inside then make you get on to the ticket counter line.

7 days, 14 hours and counting:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I would like to know this as well, as this is the flight we usually take, but haven't been on since last July. I remember reading a thread here on definately using the skycaps over waiting in line to check luggage, that it was a huge timesaver. They did use to give you your boarding pass, but I don't know about now.

Anyone been on this flight recently that could tell us?:)

I took this flight last month. Hardly anyone was using curbside check in. There was no wait for curbside, but the inside line was very long. They still give you your boarding pass.

Thank you DCGrumpy can you tell me what time you got to the airport?
68 HOURS until AKL:bounce: :bounce: :D

You're welcome.

We got there just about 4:00.

I got to the airport at 4:30...there was a line inside (moves fast i am told).... but went outside and was able to check in fine with no line. I had an e-ticket and they were able to give me a boarding pass with no problem. My friend, who carried on her luggage... checked in at the gate.

I am taking this flight on 2/17. I not planning on getting to the airport at 4:15 am. Can we get somemore feedback from people who are taking this flight?

I'm taking this flight this sat. I heard from someone at my law school that took this flight that it was really crowded but the wait was in security which took her about 115 mins to get thru she said you definitely need the two hours but if you get there a little before 4 you will have smooth sailing. I will let everyone know about my experience when I get home!

Yikes! Before 4am! This is going to go over about as well as a f*rt in church with my family! Personally, I won't be sleeping well anyway so it won't matter getting up that early. You know, the excitement, the anticipation, the flying anxiety! Just kidding!

Thanks for the info lillykat, and let us know how it goes. Have a great trip!!:) :) :)

we're driving to Disneyworld. WE thought it would probably be quicker. lol

I don't know if you got my post - b/c it seems to have disappeared. We took this flight on Jan 5th. We got there before 4 - about 330. The lines were ridiculously long. They opened the ticket counter at 340. We waited for the skycaps. They showed up at 4am and we were the first in line. By the time we were done there was a long line ( I think people caught on to the fact that skycaps were there and were coming out from inside.
We then got in line for security - we were about 20th in line but still had to wait for about 40 mins. I don't remember if they opened security at 430 or 440am. Then it is slow going thru security.
Now remember - we were never searched the entire trip, so that was the quickest you could go. People who hit security lines 15 mins after we did took almost 1 hour to get thru barely making the plane - b/c security takes so long. There were doing random searches of peoples bags when they checked in, (this involves full search of your checked bags) then searches again at security and they are also doing random checks at the gate when you board as well.
Now also take into account the new proceedures that went into effect today.
There were lots of children on our plane. They were either too excited to sleep until we got onto the plane or they were dead to the world the entire time. Remember you can take a later flight but then you lose most of your day. We were at our hotel checked in and at the MK from AKL by 1015 am.

We are taking this flight March 6. We flew to Savannah, Ga in November to stay at Disney's Hilton Head resort. We took a non stop Delta Connection from LGA that left about 9:30AM. We got there 2 1/2 hours early and had no trouble checking in with the sky caps. Security was a stitch. They asked me to open my carry on because they couldn't see everything and something was questionable. The questionable item was my new luggage cart that folds to the size of an umbrella-the security lady loved it. Then she asked me to open my 'Freedom bag' (check out QVC) which I did and they couldn't believe what I crammed in it. It had to be re xrayed in the open position. I had carefully checked it and removed all my iffy items-nail clipper, embroidery scissors etc. Then they discovered my book pageminder that holds open a book. It is made of metal and shaped like a capital letter 'E' but with 4 'legs' instead of 3. It is not sharp but after a few minutes of supervisors poking each other they confiscated it. At the gates they randomly searched 1 or 2 passengers from each flight before boarding. It was interesting to watch-wand search for the people, open all carryons, turn on cell phones & pagers & lap tops & palm pilots & cameras etc. On the way home in Savannah each of the 6 people in front of me at the security checkpoint were stopped for a more careful search but I lucked out and got through in no time. By the way in the past 2 years I was randomly stopped at security for a drug/explosives test 9 out of 10 times! It must be my angelic face. LOL Now I don't know if we should get to LGA the night before and sleep on the curb. But then they might detain us as suspicious characters.
