Can you tell me what's in it, what it tastes like, show me a picture, tell me why I MUST have one while I am at O'hanas.......:goodvibes

I had quite a few of these during my last trip, and got to watch a few of them being made at the Tambu. If I remember correctly, I think it was a mix of pineapple juice, orange juice, sour mix, spiced rum, and 151. It's served in a hollowed pineapple.

Compared to a lot of the drinks at WDW, the lapu does pack a little more of a punch, probably due to the 151. It's pretty strong on the sweet taste, so if you dont like pineapple or OJ I'd steer clear. The sweet compliments the rum though.

The pineapple starts to get sticky after a while as well, so I like to wrap the thing in napkins after some time. They cost a fortune (and WDW probably makes a hefty profit off of them) ... something like $12 a pop, but overall there's just something about drinking a 151 drink out of a pineapple when visiting the poly

I've never actually had one myself (not a huge fan of heartburn-inducing mixed drinks  ), but my brother really likes them and always has one when we are at the Poly.

I'm not a fan of sweet or rum drinks but this one I love.:lovestruc The combination is just right. I tend to equate the drink with relaxation, I guess. That is why I suggest that you drink it AFTER eating at 'Ohana while watching Wishes on the beach!

OMG this thing was strong! Back in 08 we were on our honeymoon and I had seen pics of it here on the DIS so I told DH when we got to Ohana I wanted one thinking it would be like a pina colada or mai tai. DH read the ingredients to himself but didnt tell me, but he ordered one for himself. Bill for the two drinks alone was over $30 and I couldnt even drink mine, I ordered another glass of pinaple juice to cut some the liquor but it didnt help much! Last yr I got a pina colava and liked it MUCH better! I also like the mai tais and the bahama mamas. They are cheaper, and taste better without making me feel like my chest and stomach is on fire! LOL!

They pack a whollop, but they're sooooo good. I try to get one every trip. LOL, those things have a 1-per-trip limit!

GREAT tip about enjoying one on the beach at Poly & watching WISHES!!

Note: You can ONLY get the drink IN the resort, NOT at the pool bar. I found this out last trip. :thumbsup2
