A friend of mine recommended this to me....I'm a very light sleeper and have difficulty sleeping in hotels. I hear every door close, toilet flush, drawer slide, etc...... Before our last trip to WDW, we went to Home Depot and purchased a small fan. It's about 8 to 10 inches square and will fit into a suitcase. At night, we turned the fan on high all slept like babies!

Just thought I'd pass this along...A good nite's sleep can really make the difference.

Leaving tomorrow for CSR! It's a last minute, surprise and the kids don't know a thing!!!! He He!:D

I can verify this. I run a fan in my bedroom summer and winter for the 'white noise' it provides.

Oh how funny, I thought my husband and I were a rare breed!
We sleep with a fan in the summer and a humidufier in the winter.
Basically for the white noise they provide! I have been frantic about how we will sleep at WDW and on the Magic.
I will definatly pick up a small fan now!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

We started running the overhead fan in the bathroom next to DD room when she was a baby. Now we turn the one on in our bathroom too! Only problem is, we have killed boths fans once already! At least they are not expensive to replace!
If there is a fan in the bathroom at the resort, we just flip that switch on and feel right at home. (If the light goes on with it, we just leave the door cracked open and it's like a night light too!)

I am a firm believer in earplugs. I use the foam ones that you kind of scrunch up and stuff in your ears. I got them when my DH started snoring loudly. I soon realized that they were really helpful when sleeping in hotels, too. Now I can't sleep without them.

What we do works beautifully too...you know the switches to control the AC in the room at the hotel? Well, there is a nice fan switch there too that we use every night for the white noise, it puts everyone to sleep!

We just stayed at PO-R, and this thread has me laughing. We brought our humidifier in the car all the way from Colorado for the white noise at all our family's homes and at Disney.

The lightswitch plates in the bathrooms at PO-R have a little label on them that says "silent exhaust fan". They really are silent - I could never figure out how they actually work (or if they are). So if you're staying there, definitely bring a little fan with you!

Know what works for our DFam?? A good, LONG day at a WDW park, trying to do EVERYTHING!!!! We are sooo exhausted at the end of the day, we sleep like babies....:sunny:!!

I am an all year fan user too. I haven't brought a fan yet but if I can find one that is small and makes enough noise I will bring one.

DD #2 always loved white noise as a baby. We found a sound soother from Sharper Image. It's about the size of a credit card and has an adapter or batteries. She nursed and slept to the white noise option as a baby but now enjoys picking her sound, rain, water, white, brook when she needs to settle down. Very portable!

I thought I was unique in my using a fan all year long....DH hated it, now he can't sleep without it, either! I HAVE to remember to bring a battery operated fan next time I go anywhere. I do have trouble sleeping in strange places. Great tip!

I buy my little fans from Walmart and take one of them everywhere I go. I just returned from a trip with my fan; my daughter had her ear plugs. We were both happy! :D
