For 2022 Vancouver Cruisers: Vaccine Passport and Mask Mandate is Ending

Why would they have to use an expensive test if they would be able to do it before they went to BC? In the US you can get free tests almost everywhere it seems. Canada is really behind on the testing front. When you needed a PCR to travel Winnipeg had TWO options only. And both were $200+ per person. Ugh.
No I meant if they are already IN BC and need a test to go home or need the test before the cruise (which we are still not sure 100% how that will be set up).

This is what I am worried about and so frustrated that that DCL has not communicated a 100% what the deal is with Vanvouver sailings. Maybe we are all assuming that testing will be different as so many will need to test to enter anyways. and that overall industry has adapted many times their testing strategy.. DCL has not.

I need to know now how do we plan our pre-cruise days; how many ( thank god we are still fleixble wiht flights, many are not) . Do we not stay as many days before and use our entry test for entr AND sailing or do we need to find a testing place in Vancouver, or will DCL take care of it.. i have read more online on how finding tests in Canada are expensive and hard to find.

I'm much more concerned with getting stuck in Canada after the cruise. I hope the testing/quarantine requirements are clarified and/or modified. That would be a deal breaker for our August cruise. Can't risk being detained in Canada for 2 weeks.
YES!!!! That is exactly our thoughts.

I spoke with my travel advisor and she said to just hold on a bit to see about clarifications from Canada. We don't have to PIF until May. Our daughter will be starting her first year of college at the end of August, so we REALLY can't get stuck in Canada!

Yep. We cancelled our June cruise but im more than willing to rebook if anything changes.
We can't risk being stuck there after being gone already for 8 or 9 days. Least for Port Canaveral if
you test postive it is precruise.

Except it hasn't been. On a positive note, numbers are falling so rapidly maybe neither will be needed by Summer.
But all the wasted money on testing hasn't saved Canada from mass amounts of cases either.

I agree and I hope for the same. Numbers def look good. (Let's just hope for no more major variants)

Like I said nothing has really worked.

Ignoring rumors and viewing the future through a crystal ball, is a test with a negative result all that is currently necessary? What about proof-of-vaccination?

Yes Canada currently requires people 12 or older to be vaccinated and proof needs to be entered into their ArriveCan Application. The current requirements are:

As of right now you must have proof of vaccination uploaded to the Arrive Can app. Anyone who comes to Canada and isn't vaccinated is required to quarantine for 14 days!

But yes, who knows what the future holds. Maybe it will go away. Maybe we'll have another variant. Not clue.

I am trying to figure out the best way to get a four year old and one year old tested before we arrive in Canada. I am assuming Disney will have that figured out for our departure and then we can use that test for US re-entry.

I plan to have my whole family tested at the same time since we'll all have to be tested to enter Canada. And then again at embarkation. We're also staying for a few days after our cruise to see family/Vancouver so if dreams come true I'd love the US to drop arrival testing for flights. Had hoped to do Amtrack Cascades and avoid it, but that doesn't seem to be happening...
