Regular gas down to $3.21 (a drop of two cents since yesterday; a drop of eighteen cents since a week ago).

Keep goin.'

Gettin' ready for another drive as soon as the bad weather gets out of here over the next few days.

All the best. :thumbsup2

Just paid 3.12 this morning, but that price was only at two stations. Most are still 3.17-3.21.

Hmm. An interesting departured date. Now then, when will you be getting on to I-95?

All the best. :thumbsup2

I give up.. why is my departure date interesting? We picked it based on the available vacation schedule for the other family traveling with us.

We will hit I-95 at about 9AM Friday... and it's always great fun for the 2 lanes of SC but gets better once there are 3 lanes.

Funny story: In April as we got in I-95 in SC we read on Facebook that friends of ours were also heading to FL via I-95... and judging their posts I thought they might be within 30 minutes of us.. sure enough they were just 15 min behind us and we stopped at the Georgia Welcome Center together to catch up!

Not so funny story: Turned on my car's GPS on Saturday and it flipped out... like someone is pressing buttons all the time on the screen. Took it apart and cleaned the screen and bezel but no good... into the trash it goes and thanks to Amazon Prime have a new one today just in time to update the maps and get used to it before we leave... in less than 48 hours...

The best prices we found for gas was in SC at $3.04. NC was pretty much the highest we found along the way. Be sure to check CC price. There was a Shell station near DTD that the cash price was $3.15 but the CC $4.10! I didn't realize the post of $4.10 was for the regular gas with such a price difference! Be careful.

gooood evening!!!! not much going on other then work has been busy. it is suppose to start slowing up soon with the end of the cooling season and the heating season a few months off but nooooooooooooo, im going to have to work like a dog up to my vacation time.

with a few people heading down soon, have a safe and fun trip!!!! :thumbsup2

I recall last year when taking dd to her apartment, i came down hotel plaza blvd. heading to 528. turned right onto 528, under i4 and make a left at the first light. on that road, on the right there is a shell station. if i recall the price of gas was over $6.oo per gallon. (it was double of any gas station i had seen) im going to take a ride down that way to see if they are still there and what the price of gas is there. i couldn't figure out why nobody was getting gas there. i pulled in and started pumping.( i didn't look at the price) i started pumping 93 octane and got to $75 real fast and i stopped. it didn't fill the car. now i know why nobody was getting gas there. :lmao:

Well one of the two 3.12 stations raised its price this morning to 3.17, so maybe that was just a short-term mini gas price war between the two stations. I am sure the other one will raise it to 3.17 today too. I was hoping it was harbinger of a continuation of the downward price trend.

What an overnight storm in these parts! Our street flooded and the rising waters reached our garage before finally peaking and subsiding early this morning. We don't know exactly how much rain we received but the next town over got 7.25 inches, six inches less than Islip, Long Island! Unreal.

The WDW connection? If we had planned to leave today we would have been unable to drive more than a few hours because we're dead tired right now from watching the advancing waters overnight, examining the basement; etc. And the police rang the front door bell around 2:30 to check on us following a 911 call.

Whew.

All the best. :thumbsup2

Very good list!!! I, for one don't leave the house without munchos and bugles but I maybe older then you. Lol

Hi Dvczerfs,

Bugles, we love bugles, but we can only find them at the rest stops.

In fact on last trip, DS learned to count out his change to get his bag of bugles.

Lol!! That's great. If you need a fix I can mail them to you. Lol
Don't laugh, when dd was down on the college program she said to bring devil dogs. So I got her three boxes and took them down. Her best friend down there can't get them where she lives so now I mail boxes of devil dogs to the upper north west. Lol
Dd also couldn't live without turkey hill iced tea and believe it or not Hershey fudgos. Lol she didn't carry cash she used her bank card and by the looks of her statement tried to eat wdw out of premium bars. Lol

Wow, haven't posted in a while. (follow thread all the time though). :)

Countdown to this Sunday, 2am.... our next drive to the world from PA. Celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and our 10th trip with the kids! Can't wait, and honestly, I'm looking forward to the drive as much as actually being there!

Spending the 1st 3 days at POP for nostalgia purposes, then the balance at the Wilderness Lodge. I can't wait! :cool1:

Just joined the board, leaving for Disney next Thursday/Friday from Brooklyn, NY. Was thinking I would leave @ 12AM Thursday night Friday morning. Stop for breakfast and drive till Brunswick GA for a night stay at the Best Western Plus and get to Disney on Saturday late morning we can relax at the resort and start hitting the parks on Sunday. Does this sound feasible. Thanks in advance.

Yes it is. You can stay overnight anywhere between Savannah, GA and St. Augustine, FL.

Sorry last question. Again leaving from Brooklyn at 12am on Thursday night/ Friday morning, is i95 straight through my best bet.

Yes. You don't have to worry about the traffic mess between Baltimore, MD and Richmond, VA if you leave 12 am. You can explore Savannah, GA or St.Augustine , Fl the next day. It will be an easy shirt ride from GA to WDW. Coming back from Fl, shoot for an overnight stay in VA if you can.
