What does everybody like to snack on or eat during these drives? I usually get some pretzels, sandwiches for a rest stop lunch and sometimes cold pizza from the night before. I always try to pick up a special soda or two as well. Stuff I normally wouldn't drink.

We have a cooler of beverages (water, iced tea, lemonade and oj), pre-made sandwiches, fruit and a few snacks. After 30 drives to WDW, this works best for us.

All the best. :thumbsup2

Our rule when we drive long trips is that we can't eat the same chain food twice. It gets a bit tough when all the stops on I-95 seem to be the same three chains. We also have a small cooler with ice with leftovers from previous day, fruit and cut up vegetables and there can be a bag of salty snack floating around. Same rule, can't buy the same flavor of chips twice. We are Canadian so eating American quick food that doesn't exist at home is part of the adventure.

On vacation, we have a rule that we can't eat anywhere we can get at home. Picking up a snack and iced tea at Wawa when filling up on gas doesn't count!

over the years we would bring a big canvas bag full of snacks and a big cooler. the last few trips we just grab a few things and a real small cooler, big enough for about four bottles.
we ended up bringing it all down, unloading it, loading it back up and bringing it all back home.
we have started to lighten the load. we have an owners locker that we keep a lot of things in like coffee maker, rain coats, clothes and that kind of stuff. if its just the two of us I have it down to one suit case, two little carry on type bags and three lap tops. and of course our pillows, we never leave home with out them.:lmao:

After planning our next 2 week visit in August with the associated 18 hours of driving.... and then we were looking for something to do for April break, and, well we have annual passes, so... another drive in April.

Has anyone else been fool enough to drive from the midwest or northeast twice in one year? I am a fool....

four times in seven months! :lmao:

those aps will do that to people. :thumbsup2

15 years of dvc and almost 12 years of aps.......you never have to look for a place to go. :lmao:

Lol. It's hard to look past them. Lol. I look at them like I paid for them already, it's like free entertainment. Lol.
Just like dvc. I pay my dues in January and my aps in June. Lol

I am 10 minutes from King of Prussia. I guess I will have to settle for some Krystal Burgers in Daytona.

:lmao: ok, still an hour from you. :lmao:

you should have said something, I was down your way on Tuesday I could have dropped some off to you. :lmao:

one of dd friends from the college program came to visit from Oregon this week and had to run her to the philly airport.
they had me laughing most of the week when they start telling stories from the program. :lmao: they just kept saying "dad, you have no idea". :lmao:

My wife's family is spread out across Jersey so there are ample opportunities for me. But thanks for the offer!

how about music????? this has always been a fun topic in our car. even now with I phones and satellite radio.
when dd is in the car she will ask, are we going to be listening to dads hippie music? :hippie: :lmao:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-4w9gKlR3U

ok ...... first, its not hippie music.:lmao: the era in which I grew up covered the 60s and 70s and touch into the 80s. so......... I can listen to just about anything.(as long as the words yeeee haaaw or yo,yo,yo aren't in it) :lmao:
if you like that music, fine but to quote my father, "I paid for the radio, when you get a job and buy your own car, you can listen to what you want." :lmao:

so driving by you can here anything from the fifth dimension, journey, ac/dc, eagles etc......

you would think even two people in the car could agree. :lmao: nope, dw will throw on that, what i call, winey boo hoo music from the 90s and the 00. :lmao:

anyone have any of these issues or is it just me???? :rotfl:

Ugh! Had to fly to Texas for book signings and related events. Newark to San Antonio. The TSA experience; first flight delayed for 90 minutes; paid extra for front row in coach section for additional leg room for this 6-2 frame; paid for checked luggage; etc....you know the drill. :(

Can hardly wait for our drive to WDW next month! And at a rest stop I can get out and stretch; can't do that at 30,000 feet. :cool1:

All the best.:thumbsup2

For our Thanksgiving trip, I made a Dave Matthews Band playlist for my iPod. Pretty much had a collection of all his studio and live albums. I also listen to Lithium on Sirius/Xm. 90's grunge and rock is my favorite road trip song genre.

We have the 2 disc cd of Disney Parks music. It has ride and show music tracks on it. Great for listening to anytime, but especially when driving to Disney!

Ahhh, music is always a debate in our car. I get first choice since I do all the driving. :woohoo: I can listen to just about anything (except Taylor Swift) from show tunes to speed metal. DH (43) likes it loud; Metallica, etc., then DD (10) is into poppy top 40 like 1D, Katy Perry, etc., DS (14) is kinda in the middle. He's an old soul and likes Queen, or anything w/a good bass line. He's on the Autism spectrum so anything with a steady beat he can follow is good.

This next trip (in 34 days!!! :cool1:) should be interesting because we'll also have my mom (61) who really isn't into music and my youngest sister (24) so obviously the volume will need to be a more acceptable level. That's a bummer when you're cruising along in the dark at a good clip on 95 through the Carolina's.
