we are home. we departed, sadly, from the poly at 3:15am and pulled up in front of the house at 7:20pm.
we had a great trip!!! briana is already planning her trip next year with us.
the easiest part about leaving this time was knowing i will be back in 114 days!!
traffic was good. just a few slow up spots here in the lehigh valley on the way down. other than that, smooth sailing.
i noticed something this trip i have never noticed before in all the years driving and being on the road for work, the amout of people who drive with there high beams on a major interstate?????
if you are one or know someone who is, can you tell me why??? is there sudden sharp, 90 degree turns in the road???? looking for coins on the highway???? i just cant figure out what there looking for.
dude, the roads in front of you. i bet its some what straight that you can take any bend at 80 plus mph. (im talking i81/i77/i26/i95.)
than, after blowing by them because they are driving like theres black ice on the highway, they leave them on!!! "look at my tail lights, the big red shinny things, they will guide you."
other than that, it was great!!!!

we had an adr at the rose and crown at 5:30pm. we headed over to epcot around 3pm after a nap to ride some rides. around 4pm, we were sitting waiting for the lion king show at the land on a bench and for some reason, i reached into my pockets and nothing!!!! no room keys, no credit card,no cash, no id!!!! i ran, not walked fast but ran to the monorail.
got on the monorail to the ticket and trans center. get off the monorail and ran to the poly. fyi, it looks alot closer on the monorail than what it really is.
im 47 and the only running i do is to the bathroom. i go into the lobby at the poly. nobody around and a cm member asked me if she could help me?
i told her what i did and after a few questions, she printed me another key!!
ran to the room, ran to the monorail,back on the monorail and back into epcot. jogged to the rose and crown and got there at 5:10pm. perfect timing!!!
that was bone head move number two!!! i tell you about #1 next post!!!

this isnt it but it was funny! we had breakfast at the cp last saturday morning. tigger comes a bouncin over and i take a picture with him and briana. after i was done, i tell tigger, while handing him my i phone, "here, you take one of me"!!! not thinking tigger would take my phone, he takes my phone and motion like he is going to take my picture. i lean over to show him how to use the camera and he shushes me away. tammy said " i bet tigger has an iphone"? he nods yes he does!!
he tried but with only a thumb, couldnt push the button. so he grab briana and they held the iphone out in front of them and took there own picture.

its the same in my av. but you can see it better in normal size.
(notice those $5000. teeth, please!!! lol)
(i forgot to tell you, she got her grades while we were there. she got a 3.8 and made the deans list again)

Tigger is just a blast. I loved his dance with dd like the prince and cindy going at it.

Our experianced trip guru, to leave everything in the room reminds me, I can not be expected to take care of it all for my family. I am not infailable, lol.
Hope they cut me some slack on our trip.

Two weeks we will be pulling in for dgs birthday! Then again for the MNSCHP last of Sept for free dining. Got our worth out of the AP, plus will have the tix from the free dining to use the following year.

Got a good 1 way car rental rate so I am driving back home in June, which finsihes the second half of my drive down fly back I did in November.

we can send a man to the moon but disney cant figure out how to put aps on your room key when you check in.
the best part, if you put your room key and your ap tickets together, the magnet in your room key, erases the info on your ap!! been there, done that.

ok, before we leave i remind briana to get tammy a mothers day card before we leave. she gives me the card and i put it with mine and put it in the suite case.
we get into our room and i pull the cards out and stand them up on a shelf on top of the tv. (we are in the poly.)
we go to eat, come back and my card is gone.
remember, you cant make this crap up!!! i reach up and no card!! so i jump up on the dresser and look on the shelf and there is a slot, about 3 foot long, 3/4 think on top of the shelf, my card has fallen in this slot behind the tv!!!!! anyone staying at the poly, check it out, theres a slot on this shelf!!!! must be an air vent for the tv.
long story short. i took two hangers, rubber band them together and put duct tape on the end and managed to push the card down to the bottom where briana grab it through another slot on the bottom!!!!
i hand a three way screw driver, pliers and a needle nose, i was going to take the tv stand apart if i had to!!!!
yes, i never leave home without tools and duct tape!!!

Unbelievable! Lauren says "smart" - never leave home without duct tape. You are a very resourceful person.

Great story, I am glad Tammy got her card, amid bedlem, lol. Murphy's law. I never would have thought to search behind the TV. Last trip down I took a supply of cards and stamps for a bff from CA. I was meeting for the first time. She sends cards over seas to enlisted personnel. I will send her a packet of cards and stamps. THis time, the thought was meeting for the first time at Disney, and also send a packet back....got to the room and could not find the cards. dug through a few times, nothing.

When I got home and unpacked they were right there? so back to PA they came to be mailed out.

Looks like we are leaving the driving behind for a little while. Some flight credits we had from our DL trip will cover flights for the cruise in Sept and most of the cost for Jan. we will save a couple hundred by using the credits and DH may be able to trade his car for sonething smaller and cheaper since we won't need the space for driving.

Hi. I just booked a suprise trip for DD (6). Past two trips we took the Auto train as we planned the vacations for over a year. This trip we are leaving in approx 50 days.

Being we are driving (from NYC area), we are looking to stop over somewhere in NC.

I am looking for info on hotels the in southern part of North Carolina. We are looking to drive approx 10 hours (not including bathroom breaks).

Any info / reviews would be greatly appreicated !! Thanks.
