Right now, you probably are. You have a FAR better chance of getting one on the actual day you want to ride it. At 14 days out, people made those plans long ago and aren't going to be changing them yet. But when the actual day comes, plans change and things move fast.

And no, time of day really is irrelevant. You never know when someone will drop or alter plans.

I keep reading, day before and day of, I guess depending on your party size you have a better chance. Good luck!

It’s a “real time” system - so if I cancel a FP right now, it’s immediately available for someone to book.

It can be a pain, but keep checking - especially the day before/day of. People are changing plans all the time and you just never know.

The odds aren’t in your favor with FOP, but good luck!

I was just able to get one fastpass! So my husband gets to ride it. Hopefully another one pops up for me!

Just a thought... but would a person's chance of getting a FP for FOP improve if they didn't have an ADR or other FPs already selected? It seems to me that those times would be blocked.

You can ignore any ADRs. They don't interfere with FPs.

Instructions for Checking Availability

You don't have to Cancel when checking availability, rebooking a new park, or when park hopping. Simply follow the instructions below.

From the app:
~ tap the "+"
~ select guests
~ select date and new park
~ continue beyond any warnings
~ you won't lose anything if just checking availability. After checking, back out of the window and your original FP+ remain.
~ when you confirm a FP+ for the new park, that's when any original FP+ are replaced.

Checking Availability for Same Park - Same Day
From the App
~ from a booked FP, choose "Modify”
*(Note: to check availability of a Tier 1 attraction, you must choose an existing Tier 1 to modify.)
~ scroll through selections to see availability
~ original FP remains intact if a new ride is not chosen
* The system does show ride availability for time slots that are blocked by original FP Return Windows.
