Just wondering if anyone has experience with the wait time at the end of the day? Park closes at 10 on the day we are going (Dec 29th). Also - what is the normal single rider wait time? I just read today that they have single rider which is totally fine for our family.

We are offsite so won't get fast passes and are going with a family that refuses rope drop. We may go for rope drop and then meet back up with them later. Thanks!

FOP does not have single rider. It has a single-rider queue, but it has not been used to date.

You are correct, it does say that in Post #2. Let’s see what @rteetz has to say about that....
Well...

There is a single rider line for the attraction but it has never been used. Its assumed it was added by mistake or something. The single rider sign is still there but is covered up. I doubt we ever see single rider for this attraction.

Can I suggest an edit? ;) :goodvibes

Now, back to your other question. Wait times tend to be shorter, and shorter than the posted wait, in the last hour or so before park close. That said, you are asking about a day during the busiest week of the year so...you may still be looking at a significant wait. This is obviously the first time FOP will be operating at this time of year, so difficult to predict any meaningful wait time.

Rope drop is the busiest time of the day for this attraction. I checked one day last week and the wait times were up to 210 within 10 minutes of park opening. The waits were down to 30 within 10 minutes of park closing on the same day.

There was a report just a couple of days ago of a 15 minute actual wait, with a posted wait of 110, just before closing time. Keep in mind that posted wait times are intentionally exaggerated at night to discourage riders.

Thanks everyone! I think we still might try rope drop and then if we can get on at the end of the day too - bonus!

During our trip earlier this month, I noticed that the sign is now gone, both outside the ride and inside where the FP and Single Rider lanes would have split off

Rope drop is the way to go! Just got back this week and did rope drop twice for FOP. First wait on a Tuesday ( got to main gate at 815) was 35 mins the second Friday morning (got to gate at 745)was almost a walk on. Both days were 9 am openings. Hope this helps

Hmmmm - I am also wondering what is best to be able to do this attraction- as I planned a last minute trip. Think I will try park closing. Really wish they did have a single rider line!!

We just did park closing on Saturday 10/28. We got in line at 7pm for an 8pm park close. The cast member at the entrance was telling everyone that they were experiencing “technical difficulties” and wait would be 4+ hours. The 2 groups in front of us turned around. The TP app was saying 212 minutes. We got in line and were done in less than 2 hours. Not sure if that 4 hour wait they was to scare people off or if they truly were having technical difficulties.

Was at park a week ago. Was lucky enough to get FP for FOP. we were at park at rope drop and the line was over 2 hours wait. By mid afternoon that same line looked no where near that long and at our arrival time, 430-530, we arrived about 435, the standby line was less than 2 hours.
I think park opening was when lines were or seemed longest. I’d try at closing.
We Loved the ride and it was the highlight of this visit. A do not miss ride.
Good luck

We just rode FOP at closing last night 10/29. We got in line 6 minutes before an 8:00 closing. Posted wait time was 165 minutes. The whole experience including wait time and ride time was 70 minutes. The family behind us was local and said they did the same thing last Sunday and it was even faster.

There doesn't appear to be a need for a completely separate single rider line at this time. With the large size of each theater, and the setup at the guest grouping area, they are able to put parties together fairly efficiently. I suppose Disney wanted to have the option to add single rider in the future, but for now it appears to be working well without.

We got in line at 8:24pm for an 8:30pm close on 10/28. Like a previous poster, we also heard rumblings that the ride had been down and waits had hit 4 hours at one point. We were fairly close to the line cutoff but there was still a large amount of people behind us in line. People were FLOODING the FastPass line until 8:45. I mean just hoards of people. Once they quit slamming the line, the line started moving faster.
Wait was posted at 150 minutes. We were outside after the ride at 10:08pm. So a little over an hour and a half.
