Hi all
Is the FOP stand-by line suitable i.e wide enough for individuals on a wheelchair or scooter? Some rides are; some are not, and I'm trying to plan out options for my September trip with a mobility-restricted friend. I'd appreciate any guidance you may have.

Are you concerned with Disney World because as far as I know, all rides are feasible for individuals in wheelchairs and/or scooters. I'm just asking because you don't have many posts here so want you to know there is a great sub forum here for people with disabilities. I can tell you that physically wheeling my late father and late father-in-law plus my husband and him wheeling me (the latter two were temporary), Disney World is very handicapped accessible.

My understanding is that FOP is ECV friendly only in the FP line; here's the thread on the disabilities board: https://www.disboards.com/threads/pandora-rides.3593133/. From the blog: "We had FastPasses and since the wait times are so long right now, we didn’t experience the standby queue". Don't know how it would work if you don't have a FP, on other rides where the standby queue is inaccessible and you don't, they will give you a ticket with a return time; don't know if they are doing this for FOP.

When I was there earlier this month, wheelchairs and ECVs were using the standby line without any issues. It looked to me like they were pulling ECVs and wheelchairs out of the standby line at the fastpass merge, and moving them into a separate line for loading...I think they they are doing that to make sure they load into the ride vehicle rooms that don't require climbing stairs, but I'm not positive.

But yes, they are having people use the standby line, and nobody seemed to be having a problem with it that I saw.

The boat ride in pandora is not handicap accessible.

Na'vi? I haven't been on and my late father would have had a problem with "stepping down" into the boat but at Kali River Rapids, he was always allowed to board the raft with my stepmother's help and one other person's. I just want to make sure we have the same information.

Anyone in a wheelchair/ECV has to transfer. The boats are not equipped to handle wheelchairs or evc's.

That was what I was asking. So, you can take a device all the way up to the actual boat and then have to transfer. So, the queues are handicapped accessible, the boats are not. If you can transfer or have help to get into the boat, then you can ride. That's a different things than not having a queue accessible.

We were just there three days ago and noticed a lady having real difficulty navigating her ECV through the standby line at FOP. The line has lot of turns, which seemed very tight for her. She was having trouble with the turns, hitting the wall and having to back up quite a bit.

I am not sure if she had her own EVC or rented one at AK. Maybe she was not experienced with the EVC to navigate the turns well, I am not sure why she was having such a hard time, as a poster above stated that others with EVC's were not having a problem.
