FOP Motion Sickness

I'm not terribly prone to motion sickness on rides--stuff that might usually disorient people, like spinning rides similar to Astro Orbiter etc don't make me sick, but when I went to Epcot for the first time I had a massive panic attack on Soarin' and frankly I think it was because I was a little motion sick. If I had a rough time on Soarin', is FoP off-limits for me?

I suspect you should consider preparing a strategy to deal with the motion issue. I'm a thrill ride junkie and my first time on FoP I was surprised by the intensity of the virtual motion effects. I wasn't exactly ill, just a little queasy at the end. Subsequent rides were fully enjoyable. Closing your eyes if you have a problem should get you through.

I think Bill from PA said it well.

My experience was that I was initially overwhelmed with the visuals but then I started to focus my attention on the 'ride leader'. Part of the story is that during your first ride you are following a ride leader. Once I did that I felt more like I was 'driving' rather than just riding. I could anticipate the motion. Then the ride became exhilarating!

The physical motion is quite gentle. The excitement comes through the visuals. So Bill's advice to close your eyes if you feel uneasy is the way to go.

My friend who is highly motion sickness prone did not have any issues. Nor does she have any on Soarin. However, she can't stand to ride in a car for long.

See there are different types of motion sickness. Some get queasy from car rides, some get queasy from motion simulator rides. Me, car rides are fine. But any motion simulator ride gets me queasy/nauseous. Its annoying because I'd love to be able to ride them without getting sick. :(

OP, I get queasy from Soarin'. So ya, FOP was far worse. I didn't vomit, i never do. I just got way more nauseous from FOP than Soarin. Other rides that also get me nauseous are Mission Space (green even), Star Tours, EE (the backwards part is what gets me sick)...at US/IOA Spider Man, Forbidden Journey, Simpsons etc.

I have minimal motion sickness issues. I am fine on Soarin.
I was so SICK on FOP from the first drop on. Closing my eyes didn’t help me at that point. I prayed I wouldn’t vomit. NEVER AGAIN for me
If Soarin bothers you I think you should be wary.

I tend to have motion sickness on all simulators and anything that spins. Coasters I'm fine. I was hesitant to try FOP but I was totally fine! I'm not sure if it's because the affects are just that good but I didn't feel queezy at all. I do take a Bonine every day and figured I have to try this ride at least once even if it does ruin my day. Luckily it didn't and I wouldn't hesitate to tell you to at least give it a try!
