FOP in a skirt?

I posted a thread before my last trip regarding skirts and rides at WDW. I can say the trip went off without a hitch, and I had zero problems on the rides.

However, it just occurred to me that FOP requires straddling the ride, and I am afraid it will be a problem.

Does anyone have any experience riding FOP in a skirt? Any tips?

Picture riding a motorcycle or horse. A short or straight skirt could get interesting.

You might have to hike her up and you will have more "contact" with the surface.

Any thoughts on biker shorts ... at least just for this ride ... under your skirt?

Frankly, I can’t even imagine doing it, but I would never wear one to the parks anyhow.

I’m not so graceful that getting in and out of rides wearing a skirt or dress would be a good look for me.

I always wear something like that under my skirts (after an unfortunate incident on a very fast go kart!)

I’m not too worried about the contact issue (or I wasn’t until you mentioned it....even fully clothed that’s a bit gross! :crazy2:). I’m worried more about the logistics of it.

Well, I agree with motorcycle or small horse.

I always wear sundresses to the parks. For AK, I always wear a dress with a peacock design on it that has a fuller skirt. I had zero issues riding FOP with "full coverage" by flipping the back of my skirt over the seat (just as you would if you were sitting in a chair with a skirt on).

Thank you. That is very helpful.

If you wear a fuller skirt you should have no problems. I wear sundresses when I go in the summer but will admit I wore a skort this August when we went to AK because I knew we would be riding FOP.

I wore a skirt (this one) with Nike compression shorts underneath on FOP twice and was fine. Be aware of your skirt in relation to the harness that rests on your low back. My skirt temporarily got caught in it and I had to yank it out. My skirt did not rip, but be aware of it if your skirt could tear easily. Just smooth the skirt under you as you get on the seat. Enjoy FOP! It's an amazing ride!

I wear skirts 100% of the time, with shorts under because heck, how could you not when you are climbing in and out of rides all day, not to mention wind.
It was no problem at all on FoP. So what if you flash, you have on shorts underneath. Hence, how can you NOT wear shorts of some sort under a skirt at a theme park, unless you aren't doing rides

To me, it’s not like a bike or horse because you don’t have to throw one leg over and climb on— you just walk forward and sit straddling the seat.

I think it would only be an issue with a tight long pencil-type skirt because you would have to hike that all the way up.

99% of the time in public, I am wearing a dress. Fortunately, I have opaque tights and leggings that are comfy to wear up to mid-80s temperatures, which is around where the temperatures max out when I visit (December and early March). FOP might be awkward in a skirt, but the one pair of jeans I own aren't even coming to Disney, so it's going to have to work.

Thanks so much for all of your responses. I am encouraged (and excited about our FOP fastpasses!)

I wore a dress to MK for Halloween Party, no shorts. Went on all rides, no issues. :)
