FoP for a Claustrophobe?

My mom can be claustrophobic on rides. She hated Body Wars back in the day, and she avoids Star Tours bc she "doesn't like being in a small room and having the doors closed on her." She has never ridden Mission Space, for obvious reasons.

In Flight of Passage, do they close the doors on you in a small room like they do in Star Tours? She doesn't want to wait in a long line for this ride, only to turn around when she sees the room.

Thanks!

There is a pre-show that takes place in several smaller, enclosed rooms.
Most of the queue is also underground (or designed to feel that way) if that's at all problematic

The actual ride room is very large once it's going, but the ride vehicles aren't what I would call roomy with the leg restraints.

There is airflow once the ride is going which I find helps me with any sort of motion sickness/claustrophobia I might otherwise experience

Thanks! The only ride she has trouble with is Star Tours, so if the room is bigger and more open than that, she should be fine. For some reason, pre-show rooms like the Tower of Terror pre-show room have never bothered her. Maybe bc she's not strapped into anything? Don't know :-) But as long as FoP isn't like Star Tours or Body Wars, she should be fine.

Thanks for this description. I have claustrophobic-trouble in the waiting room (cave) for Tough To Be A Bug. The low ceiling, or my perception of low ceiling, is what gets to me. I'm going to do FOP in any event, but definitely thinking I might have to bail out in the queue.

I will say that yes, the ride room is technically very large if you look around and break the realism. But you are not made to feel like you are in a room. The room where you sit on your banshee is pretty small and narrow and they close it off. While you are sitting there waiting for it to start, the room might seem small to her.

I am very claustrophobic and I was a bit apprehensive at having restraints around my ankles and back. I hate being hemmed or locked in anywhere. I had to be drugged unconscious for an MRI and I take something to put me to sleep when I have to fly. That being said, I had no issues with FOP, none at all. The restraints are not nearly as tight as say any coaster, just firm enough to keep you in place. The wind movements are big help as well. The ride is so fascinating, you truly forget where you are. I say try it.
