FOP child swap waiting area?

My son and I rode FOP last. summer. I didn't use child-swap, we just rope dropped and waited an hour in stand-by. My husband and younger son met us later in the morning. This summer we have fast passes and intend to child swap. I vaguely recall seeing what looked like a waiting room for parents and kids doing child-swap when we came off the ride. Am I mistaken or is this a thing? It would be nice for the 2nd parent to wait with little guy in a designated air conditioned place. Maybe I have it mixed up with another ride at Disney or even Universal? My searches don't yield evidence of any such thing.

I heard that waiting areas are available at Universal/IOA for child swap. I used a child swap for FOP and wasn't offered a waiting area. They just waited for me in the gift shop since the ride dumps you out there.

Disney doesn't have waiting rooms for rider swap. Universal does. At Disney, you will all approach the ride and ask the CM for rider swap. They will need to see the child who is too short. Whoever will be waiting back with the too short child and up to 2 other people will have the rider swap added to their magic bands. The first group rides, while the adult and too short child do whatever you wish outside the line. Then you meet up and those with the rider swap will enter the FP line and ride. So basically, your older son can ride twice, once with each of you. For FOP, the gift shop is a nice, cool place to wait with the younger one, or you can get a snack or walk around Pandora.

For kids who are tall enough but too scared to ride, the rider swap pass is generally not given. You can still do rider swap, but they will have everyone wait in line together. When you get to the boarding area, one adult waits to the side with the too scared kid (not really in a separate room, just usually off against a wall in or near the loading area, though it differs at each ride). After they ride, the second adult will ride. This only happens on rides where a child doesn't want to ride/is too scared but is tall enough to enter the queue. If they are not tall enough, they cannot enter the queue and the rider swap pass is loaded on the magic bands. Hopefully that makes sense.

We spent 4 days Disney, 4 Universal last summer I guess I did get confused.

RS works as the PP stated. However, do they have a little waiting area (a bench really) at FOP. I think they use it for kids who get scared and people who are not able to ride FOP mostly. I got to sit there when my 7 year old freaked out and decided she wasn't going to ride FOP. We sat there as my Dh rode. Then she decided to do it so DH sat there while she and I rode FOP.
