FoP at RD - do we miss the lab?

I have FPs for FoP but also decided we really want to see the standby queue and the avatar in the lab. So we have planned to go for RD one morning. I just read that the rope drop crowd misses a portion of the standby queue. What portions will I miss?

If I am willing to wait a bit longer, will it be better to hang back a bit at rope drop?

I missed the lab - but I was at the very front of the pack - among the first hundred or so on the ride.

my guess is you will. We bypassed it on two rope drops this week. Stand by lines are still insane - all the way down to FOL theater then wraps back on itself and along the bridge back and the end of line was right back at the exit of Pandora

Ack...I am doing standby primarily to go through the lab I'll wait half an hour or so, but certainly don't want to wait longer. What a wrench in my plans!!

We do a lot of RDs and typically manage to stay near the front of the pack. So sounds like we will either miss it for sure or have to hang back and possibly wait forever. Hmmm...perhaps getting in line at 11:59pm is a better bet.

We RD and were in the middle of the pack and went through the standby line. We waited in line for 25 minutes before we even got to the entrance of the ride and then another 45 minutes in the actual line. We also did it during EMH at night when it was posted at 90 minutes and we waiting right around 60 mins
