I have read one of earlier posts, and got two pairs of Tevas at zappos (they are on sale now). One of them turned out to be... well, not ugly. It even fits - I have weird feet, extra wide with a narrow heel, and I want little support. The other ones were a bit too supportive and oh so ugly! 
I am looking to replace my two pairs of sporty mary janes (dr scholls and tsubo), and merells almost did it. They were a bit scratchy, though, so I returned them. Now I am thinking I could have made them work, since everything else is fitting even worse.
