I have to begin by saying that my hubby is NOT a Disney fan. He only goes because I love Disney and he's an extremely good person. If the shoe were on the other foot I would absolutely refuse to go snow skiing with him under any circumstances. This guy deserves a bit of slack. I know that there are people who would say, "I can't believe that anyone would watch television in Disney World!" I completely understand them, we are soul mates. The thing is that hubby is absolutely the kind of person who would opt for TV over a ride on Soarin'. If he had a choice between an important (well, pretty much any) LSU or Saints game and free dinner at Yachtsman's Steakhouse followed by complimentary Level 1 seats at La Nouba he wouldn't even have to think once.

So he's going to Disney in October and we're camping at Ft. Wilderness. I need all the help that I can get to find out where he can catch the following games:

October 9-LSU vs Florida-I'm just assuming this is going to be on TV in the trailer. I can't even imagine not airing this game in Orlando, right?

October 10-Saints vs Arizona Cardinals-Thinking this could be a toughy. We have every freaking game on our satellite at home. There's got to be a Saints bar somewhere. Louisiana people adore Disney.

October 16-McNeese State vs LSU-My gut says no way this will be on TV at Disney. Am I right? If so HEELLP!

Any Tigers/Saints fans out there? You'd really be helping out, you have no idea!

I am a War Eagle/Falcon fan, but I can sympathize. I understand most events are televised at whatever the sports center is called now. If you mean Oct instead of Aug, NO-ARI will be on Fox at 4:05 ET. LSU-FLA is on CBS at 2:30. LSU-McNeese is not selected for national broadcast and the time is TBA. Hope this helps.

Do a search (top of page) on TV Channels. Down about 6-7 posts is a list of the stations on Disney Cable, available at all sites. For some reason I could not copy and paste the list here.

Would the ESPN restaurant show any of these? That's a fun environment to catch a game.

The ESPN Club at the Boardwalk broadcasts all of ESPN's games (duh - now, that makes sense. Don't think they'd carry ABC/CBS/NBC.) Call them & find out what games will be on their main screen.

Also - I think Crockett's Tavern has a TV at the bar. Or they did at one time. Check out Crockett's and see how flexible they are at changing the channel.

If all else fails, hurry up and get Direct TV with NFL & College packages & a portable dish. Hubby can get whatever game he wants!

Perfect idea! My DH is the same. In fact, we're going to make a quick trip to WDW today for a last minute weekend, but we're delayed until tomorrow morning so he can watch Bama play tonight. He loves Disney, but football is very important!!!!

Good for you for looking out for his "needs" on vacation!

ESPN Zone is a great idea, I'm sure he'd be able to see all the Games there. And it is a fun place to watch TV.
Seeing how ABC owns ESPN I'm pretty sure you'll find TVs tuned to games on ABC
But really there are so many TVs at the ESPN Zones that they cover all the Games

We have Direct TV and NFL Sunday Ticket here at home. We just don't camp enough to get it for the trailer. This will be our first time at Ft. Wilderness in over ten years!

Two out of three isn't bad. I'll put the McNeese game on the Tivo and hope for the best.

I would highly recommend just buying a satellite & tripod for your camper, and take your receiver with you.

You can usually get an inexpensive satellite sey up on ebay for under a $100, that even includes a meter & level. Buy an extra 50 feet of cable to go with it. However, the downside is that there is no guarantee you will have an opening to get a line of site through the trees.

If you do get one, experiment with it at home until you are familiar with it.

that's what we do! Hubby found a satellite at a swap meet and we bring our receiver. he made his own tripod from PVC and we used it at Disney.. it does depend on where the trees are though!

I wonder if the Kentucky/Auburn game will be shown in the Orlando area on October 9. I'm thinking it would be a Fox Sports South game, or whatever network they show Southeastern Conference games on (used to be Jefferson Pilot, but I don't think that's it any more .. ).

If you are wanting the college games, you will need to get an internet connection for the day or get an air card. We hook our projector up to our computer, which is tethered to our phone (which doubles as an air card) and then watch ESPN3. It has many of the games that you don't see on Natl. TV. You can switch from game to game at ease and it is a live feed. We were planning on doing this for the Auburn/Arkansas State game, however, our cord did not come in on time and it was a good thing too, as it was the wrong one. (We have the corrected one coming in) We ended up borrowing TnBob's DirectTV box and plugging it into the projector to watch it on the big Mickey screen at clkelley's site. Check the listing of games with ESPN3 and see what they are offering and if they have the games, it is worth getting the internet to watch it. Disney charges 10 bucks a day and a deposit for the modem. If you have an air card, Disney gets nothin'.
