In addition to everybody else's uses, one of the best uses for it in my kitchen is for cheese. We probably eat a below average amount of cheese, and I hate when it gets moldy because we haven't touched it in a few weeks. Well stick it in a vac seal bag and it doesn't mold. Also I can buy the bulk size cheese (we like Monterey Jack) and cut it up into 1/2 lb. chunks, and vac seal it. I wrap every other chunk w/ freezer paper so the cheese doesn't stick together, and seal it in a bag that is long enough be able to cut the bag open and and re-seal the same bag three more times.
