foods you take in your hotel

I like to bring muffins I make from home (lots of healthy stuff that the kids don't know about in 'em). When we are watching pennies we bring sandwich items but use tortillas so they dont get squished. It has been mentioned here before but I like to freeze juice boxes to pack in lunches. It keeps food cold and drinks defrost by the time you want them. I always have my stash of diet soda on hand. I try to keep the in room food pretty healthy since there is typically so much junk on vacation. I am now an expert at stuffing a hotel mini fridge. :cool1: Ziplocks can be very handy when doing in-room food.

We like some protein for breakfast and not just carbs, so we have taken a microwave bowl and put in egg beaters, cheese and chopped ham- zapped in the microwave and mmmmm- very filling.

We also do string cheese, applesauce, bananas, sliced apples ( kind of pricey, but much easier than slicing apples), peanut butter

I didn't think the breakfast was gross when I stayed there last summer - it was simple but certainly enough to fill you up since you can have as much as you want. You can also take it back to your room if you have slow moving folks in the morning. I took a cooler full of frozen waters and juice boxes and a variety of snack type foods and fruits and was able to take these into the parks. I have to agree with the Disney tummie, my dd got it bad one night. You might want to bring little snack baggies of grapes, carrots, etc. to eat while in lines.

We usually only eat 1 or 2 meals in the park to save money so this is what we pack:
Breakfast - oatmeal and yogurt. This year I think I am bringing banana's and peanut butter too.
Lunch and snacks - bread, pb &j, string cheese, pirate's booty, trail mix, kashi bars
Dinner - typically the meal we eat in the park or we go over to Quizno's.
Drinks we pretty much only drink water, but I bring a small thing of milk for breakfast.

I really like the hot chocolate idea. That is going on my packing list!

This is a great idea! :thumbsup2 I never thought of this...
I usually pack some protein powder in a container. In the mornings, I mix it with some water and then microwave it with oatmeal. It makes a healthy, stick to your ribs, fast breakfast. If you get plain microwavable oatmeal, you can flavor it with fruit flavored protein powder and a little bit of Splenda. Great for people who are trying to eat clean.

my friends and i usually bring stuff like fruit snacks, cookies and crackers (just little things to snack on) but my family on the other hand usually brings a cooler with stuff to make sandwiches.

I usually don't really like big meals on vacation so I just have a little snack for breakfast and some juice.

My kids like easymac and uncle bens quick rice (lots of flavors)
I can't eat that everyday :scared1: so I bring fruit, water, nature valley granola bars, yogurt, wheat thins, raisins and laughing cow cheese. That keeps me going :goodvibes if ya know what I mean! Lolol
I rarely buy coffee since hojo got keurig coffee makers I bring my own kcups from home :) once I bought the hot chocolate kcups from their market but they are pricey compared to buying them from keurig.
We eat 1 sit down in the park a day and buy from the carts mostly.

My list changes depending on who's traveling with us.

This trip there's 4 of us. One not so picky eater, two kind of picky eaters, and one super picky eater. We're driving though so it's easy to pack extra stuff assuming the girls don't take up the whole trunk with their suitcases. lol

For breakfasts they'll have cereal and fruit. I just haven't decided which fruit yet. I also think I may bring some of those little Jimmy Dean microwavable breakfast sandwiches since our room will have both a fridge and microwave. Oh, and those little Nutrigrain bar things.

For the lunches we plan to eat in the room, PB&J and some meat/cheese/ cracker combos (not the prepackaged stuff) as well as some fruit, sliced cucumber and some chips.

We have lots of snacks going since we're driving. Besides the fruit and cucumber, they've got mini rice cakes, white cheddar cheezits, goldfish, fruit snacks and crackers. We're also taking a case of water, some gatorade, capri suns, apple juice and orange juice. We too will take k cups from home for the keurig at HOJO and I'll bring cocoa for the one who doesn't drink coffee.

We typically don't have snacks for the room, but we plan on doing it this time around.

This is what I have on my planning list so far: handi snacks, string cheese, yogurt, chips, fruit snacks, bananas, poptarts, popcorn, bread, deli meat, cheese, box juices, water, and coke.

Some really great ideas here!!

So Disneyland lets you bring food in?
most other theme parks i have been to has not let me take anything in but water!
